After dominating the Telugu cinema box office for three straight years, the mega heroes failed to score a hit in 2015. Five heroes from Mega family are in business at the moment and everyone had tried their luck this year but no one was able to set the cash registers ringing. Pawan Kalyan was only seen in a special character in Gopala Gopala that was an average fare. Ram Charan had one release this year. Bruce Lee turned out to be one of the biggest disasters of the year leaving Charan in distress and confusion. He is still finding a way to get loyal following among the family and youth audience. Allu Arjun’s Son Of Satyamurthy ended up as an average to above average film in spite of being one of the top grosser of the year. This film was sold for high rates and the buyers couldn’t recover the costs as the film failed to live up to the expectations. Bunny was also seen in a special role in the film Rudrama Devi that also failed to recover the costs. His performance as Gonaganna Reddy won him accolades though. Varun Tej’s Kanche won critical acclaim and Loafer has shown the massy side of the tall and handsome actor. Varun is still waiting to score his first hit even after three films. Sai Dharam Tej’s Subramanyam For Sale too cannot be termed as a hit. It did above average business at the box office. All in all this is a very bad year for mega heroes who have some catching up to do in the coming year as all the records that were held by them are owned by someone else now.
