similar kind of thing happend to my friend and his wife here (15-16 years back)... she got her license a few days before that and one day they went to get groceries from an indian grocery store.. it is a small strip mall and right to the left of the indian grocery store is a chinese laundry and left to that is an indian restaurant and one left to that is a convenience store owned by a pakistani.. she found a parking spot infront of the indian restaurant and parked there. my friend mr. perfectionist said the parking was not straight and asked her to park it properly (it was a nissan pathfinder)... she didn't realize that the gear was not shifted from drive to reverse and pressed the accelerator... before my friend could react they ended up in the middle of the restaurant... owner's daughter was there at the counter which is close to the entrance until a few minutes before and went to the kitchen to check on something... luckily nobody was hurt... now my friend and his family moved back to india for good and every once in a while we used to joke around about the incident until the last time i met them in India in 2011 (even at that time i jovially asked his wife if she has parked in any of the restaurants in hyderabad as there is a variety of options for her)... unfortunately in december of 2012 on chirstmas eve, the restaurant's owner's daughter who was lucky on the day my wife's friend drove into their restaurant met with an accident and died on the spot... she was going to drop her 3 kids at her parents' house before going to open the restaurant (she and her husband owned the restaurant as her dad had a paralysis stroke and was confined to wheel chair) when a ups truck lost control in the icy conditions came and hit her vehicle head on and some sharp object from the airbag made a big cut on her throat which cut the main nerve that pumps the blood to the brain causing her to die within minutes right infront of her 3 kids, few feet away from her old aged parents' home... she was a nice lady... after hearing about her death I stopped joking about the earlier incident.. rAmu(Du) manci bAluDu  cinnappaTinuncI intE
