Lawyer is only option to get out of this and to ensure this will not be classified moral offense that will impact GC. Since this is your first offense, things should be fine and should not impact GC. Mostly depends upon the states as some consider it as serious some not so serious. Lawyer will ensure you will be out with minimum impact. Also in future you might have to list this wherever asked.
