https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=DIS#symbol=DIS;range=5y actually if you look into it going back to maximum chart, it didn't do much between 1995 to 2009.Last 4 to 5 years bull run happened only with the bubble in their media networks (i.e., mostly ESPN) segment. Concerns: 45% of revenue and 64% EBIT comes from media networks segment, any weakness in this would be hugely negative. They have total $28B goodwill on the balance sheet, little over $17B just in the media networks segment. Is it normal to have such a huge goodwill for a media company? I think the theme parks and movies will continue to do well to okay. however, I don't have enough knowledge about the prospects of ESPN and valuation looks very high. for that reason I am at least dropping the call idea on this company. I will look into the other two you mentioned. Ignorance is bliss |
