irrespective of the parents capability the kids should be given an opportunity to learn the value of earning bread for him as early as possible.. that thrills them and make them a better human IMHO... in 1995, my father gave me 2500Rs. after I am done with my diploma (polytechnic) and going to Hyderabad for job search... he told me to save last 200Rs for return bus ticket.. if you don't find a job before you spend this money.. you come back and help me with cultivation.. and I believe, that motivated me to find a job and with just diploma and no additional qualification I found a job that pay Rs1200 per month for 12hr day with only Sunday off.. just enough for me to survive in Hyderabad and I survived..... that time I knew people with BSC comp. and MSC Comp, BE.. searching for jobs desperately in Hyd.. I am not saying we should do the same to our children but we should give them opportunity to try not spoon feed them.. what we save is all for them, after all .. we are not going to abandon them with their education debt.. we will eventually pay if they are in trouble or they will eventually use our savings for a different establishment.. If we offer them before hand .. I think that is nothing but denying them the opportunity to learn and understand the society... |
