In their case they are being run by some organization which gets the money. Examples churches, community development orgs etc. So the money made would go the respective charities. In case of both profitable and non-profitable hospitals some money goes towards research and development, infrastructure, incentives and administration. But anyways there are docs and nurses and admin staff the hospital needs to pay. They have to bear the burden for uninsured patients (this is a big number these days). HCA is a large group which is commercial and is also publicly traded. Totally Bewarse!
