good thing is if you install it on usb drive, it doesn;t touch your hard disk and it is better than writing the image to CD or DVD. And it is much faster than live image on CD or DVD. |

3 years nunchi ubuntu use chesthunnaanu, first year on and off.......issues vocchinappudu kodhiga ibbandhi padee vadini solution koosam, but once internal working thelisaaka never looked back.......
lab loo comp ni ubuntu 8.04 server chesi pettaanu from the past two years, neven had any issues and believe it or not used to reboot once ever two months, recently it stopped detecting my external harddrive.....recent gaa 9.10 ki upgrade iyyaaanu........idhi kuda stable gaane vundhi.....

I also tried open solaris some time back  .. but linux is more convenient and easy to configure.

I tried ubuntu, fedora, redhat, simple mapis, suse linux, mandrake linux, tiny linux, slax, mint linux etc..
vetannitiloki ubuntu easy to configure and the drivers available for most of the laptop hardware.
Salx is best distro if you want to try linux from usb. I loved this distribution |

VMWARE Player is free.
Since Version 7, The player also allows to create new VMs.
So assuming that we have VMWARE for free as well, which is better? VMWARE or VIRTUAL BOX?

420 mama, I never got a chance to migrate myself to ubuntu, in 2000s I used CDE for a while but thats it...if possible can u provide with links for ubuntu users so that I can take a reading and plan for either dual boot or just wipe out the darn windows 7 and move to ubuntu..

I use Ubuntu on my PS3. It works great to create ISO images of Blueray Discs. USA region PS3 doesn't play PAL DVD. These can be played on PS3 through linux.
I recently installed Fedora as Dual Boot on my Laptop alongwith XP. The Desktop and working environment is almost identical to Windows.
I believe everyone should slowly start getting used to Open General License OS like Linux which could be the future. |

Windows OS can goto Hell .. faack I am sick and tired of Virus scanners , Malware and spyware shit on windows .. my machine's power and resources were being hogged to keep my machine secure ,instead of helping me ..
