New Delhi: Sourav Ganguly turned 37 on Wednesday and it seems like the former India captain is keen to join the BCCI fold and helping in the governing of the sport.

India's most successful skipper recently made his debut as a television commentator at the ICC World T20 in England and now may be heading towards managing Indian cricket.

But for that the birthday boy will first have to contest the CAB (Cricket Authority of Bengal) elections where he is almost sure of meeting a roadblock in former BCCI chief Jagmohan Dalmiya.

The 37-year-old, who played 113 Tests and 311 one-day internationals and led India to 21 test wins, could contest the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) elections in Kolkata later in July.

But the man who changed the face of Indian cricket old does not see that as a problem.

In a recent interview to the The Times of India: "Having played the game at the highest level and being part of the system, I know what it takes to make a difference. At some point I will find a way to get into the CAB where people have known me since I was a kid. I have respect for them and I am sure they will appreciate my concern for Bengal cricket and the difference I can make."

The iconic star has also not ruled out the possibility of becoming the chief of BCCI in the near future.

Asked if he wanted to one day head the national board, he said: "It's a possibility, but right now I'm not looking that far ahead. I intend to take it step-by-step."
