prasthanam producer lost huge money
I read some where in satyam theatre they took 2,75,000/- and gave 25,000/- to the producer of prasthanam, so like that, they are eating away creators money with out any effort
like vishwa whole industry is waiting for their death not bcoz they are successful, they are mafia, sharks…
they r ruling without voting and against the wishes of 99% people
it’s not the question of making successful movie, the problem it seems they are fighting to stop the looting ,

Sirish, this is just an attempt to get the facts out. Its very easy for you to release a film because you have the distribution infrastructure. But think of newbies who would like to enter the industry. Do you think they should wait for 10 to 20 years and build a distribution infrastructure and then make a movie.
You know that the people who lease the theaters have got the theaters in the best locations and charge a huge rent and sometimes give you a huge bill if the movie doesn’t do well. Just Suresh itself has 366 theaters on lease and theaters in the the best possible locations in Hyderabad where people visit the theater irrespective of the movie.

What hurts everyone is that, no matter who makes a film, someone else makes money instead of the producer because of this rental system. The biggies take all kind of incentives from the government like getting free land for studios/tax cuts etc. but try to screw up the same industry.
“With great power comes great responsibility” — this statement is relevant even here just like in spiderman. You and a few others who belong to the next generation and ready to take the reigns of your family business should atleast understand the problem and be open minded. May be they were right in doing business at that point, but it no longer works in the present times.
One more thing, please do not compare Telugu Films with bollywood or hollywood. Telugu movies are in our genes, in our blood and they belong to all the 9 crore andhrites anywhere in the world. So one need not belong to the telugu industry to talk about it or be part of it. It is no doubt that we telugus are the craziest movie lovers in the whole world. Try to give a chance to someone who wants to do something in the industry instead of killing the spirit.
Creativity is at its best with limited resources. Let the biggies make big formula films and rest make small creative films and let everyone get a fair chance.

Very good explanation. This Allu Sirish is not understanding that there is a real problem here, as he never experienced it. The same problem with Rana also. First of all these star sons should grow up and have a broader understanding of the movie business.
If Suresh Babu dies, the whole industry would be very happy. I don’t know when he would understand that helping others, being moral and ethical is more important than being a shrewd/selfish/cheating businessman. What is the purpose of such a life when everyone hates you, not because you are successful but because you are sucking the blood out of everyone for your selfish motto.

Tamil Cinema’s 3 biggies Sun Pictures, Cloud 9 Pictures, Red Giant Films are on Karunanidhi’s relatives. AVM is the only “outsider”
Hollywood in dominated by Warner, Universal, Paramount, Disney, 20th Cent Fox. Bollywood by Studio18, Eros, Adlabs & Yashraj.

u r trying ur level best to defend the theatres lease business by bringing all sorts of examples and using complicated words which don’t suit in this context.
First of all ur comparision with Hollywood giants and with four bollywood giants is so bad and immature.
The above mentioned companies r into producing films and they r not into theatres lease business except 1 or 2 companies like ad labs,
fyi, the theatres are not in a single persons control.
In A.P Nearly 800 to 900 theatres r under lease out of 1750 theatres.
Can u shw 1 state in India, where theatres r running with monopoly by the syndicate?
small Bollywood producers hv choice with many single screens and difrnt mulitiplex groups like pvr,cinemax, inox, fame India… across India.
In Tamilnadu they hv were organized distributors sector so small producers survive along with biggies, a healthy creative competition between them and most of the big producers & directors including sankar etc.. support and make small budget films like eeram, rettai suzhi, subramanipuram …..
btw 92% of theatres are digitalized in T.N and the producer does nt need prints frm lab.
In A.P even big producers r unable to make small budget films as they r not profitable.
even the average or above average films wont get them profits bcoz of HIGH RENTALS, and the lesses r taking away the money which actually belongs to the producer.
The lesse take 9 out of 10 theatres on lease then create artificial demand , get heavy profits with high rentals, is this happening anywhere except A.P?
if this is oligopolistic, wil know the new meaning.
