please share your experiences at consumerist.com
I recently had a similar experience. I moved and had a friend return my comcast equipment.
After a month, I got a bill for $500 for unreturned equipment.
I called their customer service and they said they see that the equipment was returned..and I can ignore that mail.
But final outstanding bill oka 50 undi ani chepparu. I sent them a check and thought it was over.
Then I got a mail recently from some collection agency regarding the outstanding balance of $500.
After a couple of calls to comcast I told them how pissed I was and mentioned that I would share my experiences with consumerist.com
Finally, evaro manager call chestaru ani cheppi.. next day call chesaru..they apologized and updated their records ;)

So much for a capitalsitic society. It is a long story - and it happened to me but I will keep it short - Singh

*Citibank member since 1998
*Stopped usign the card in 2006 -still have it but not using it for purchases.
*Maintaining ZERO balance since then - checking every so often to ensure that the balance is still ZERO.
*On one such occasion see a clace of 215 - login to see and find out that identity theft/misuse and Internet purchasing by someone at CLICK to BUY led to the charge.(There were multiple transactions of 19.95 each)
*I call the bank and they said it is unfortunate and I will not be charged - sent paperwork to fill out that I did nto make/authorize the charges - everything fine - card cancelled - new card issued in 2008.
*Fast forward to 2010 "no Caller ID" and "1-800-Calls" coming in without any message for about 1 mont with increasing frequency. Nobody answers when I call back.
*I finally get a hold of someone who can help - after 20 days of trying - you need to bpay $1.99 per min to get a hold of them and talk:-)
*Anyways - I ask them what the issue is and am told that there was a single unpaid charge of 19.95 in 2008 which ahs accrued interest and is now 250 USD and it is in collections.
*I argue with them that all 19.95's have been taken care of and the card is cancelled - and they say call CITIBANK.
*I call CITIBANK and they say that indeed took care of all 19.95 - but there is one 19.95 that is still there and they will find out.
*2 months of frustrating Collection calls - no reply from CITIBANK- 20 calls a day from various numbers when I was driving, sleeping, eating, restrooming etc - so I just paid the fucking 250 today morning to just end the harassment:-)

Conclusion: Just pay and get the hell out - arguing, discussing and explaining, writing detailed letters with pictures/powerpoint presentations can give you a heart attack- as well as continue to negatively effect your credit scores - becuase the process in this country is not set to go back - one of the parties has to CANCEL/Give up their argument. In this case it was me :-) - Singh
