What I heard is, In creative field its very hard to make it high. in order to make money and also fame you have to be top.

with the same effort you could earn more in IT field and also work less...climb the corporate ladder faster etc...
but depends on your passion...
you can choose gaming industry or special effects for pay masters...
you need to stay to the gaming industry, special effects clusters zones for jobs....
