Japan's nuclear crisis is rapidly deepening. An explosion at the number 2 reactor at the Fukushima plant this morning.
The plant's operator, the Tokyo Electric Company, says workers are evacuating the reactor.
There are reports that high levels of radiation have been measured at Ibaraki, south of Fukushima.

UPDATE: Japan's government says an explosion was heard at the number 2 nuclear reactor in Fukushima.
Local media is reporting the blast was heard just after 6:00am local time (8:00am AEDT).
Previously, explosions have rocked the plant's number 1 and number 3 reactors, without damaging the containers holding the actual reactors themselves. But authorities say the number 2 reactor's container has been damaged.
