We find the the name of corruption even in the 'Chanakya Niti'.
In fact Chanakya suggests a King should adopt SAM, DAM, DAND and BHED for ruling a country effectively.

Indians are basically not against corruption. The general Indian people are habituated of indulging to corrupt practices in every walk of their lives.
1. We bribe the Schools to get our wards admitted in Kg/Nursery
2. We bribe to make our driving License, Pay Road tax, Pay Municipality Tax, make birth Certificates, get death Certificates, get electric connection, get water connection, get their houses registered etc. etc.
3. We give or take bribe to get their sons/daughters married.
4. We bribe the Medical or Engineering Colleges to get our wards admitted.
5. Wen the son becomes an Engineer we want the 'return of our investment' we have made in him. The son starts taking bribes to fulfill the aspirations of his father.
6. we bribe to get a job.
7. we bribe to get dead bodies from hospitals.
8. we bribe to cremate.
The list is Looooooonnnngggg!!!
This process is continuous. System is running very smoothly. All are happy. Any disruption in this smoothly going process makes us disturbed. We don't like to be disturbed.
The germ of corruption has got deep inside our blood.
We are used up to live with it.
Everybody has a price. Some sell at Rs.5/- where as the others sale at 5000 crores.
Depending upon how much investment have we made to get that price.
So. Sab Chalata hai.
We have become used to live with it.

Corruption has entered in our blood. We have become used to live with it. Any effort to remove it, makes us disturbed. We don't want to be disturbed.

In 1975, on 12th of June, Indira Gandhi was found guilty of electoral corruption in 1971 parliamentary election. Instead of resigning she decided to appeal to the supreme court which triggered a major event in the history of India.Instead of resigning, she flexed her muscles and declared a National Emergency on June 26 1975 which lasted for almost 19 months.

So according to me Indira Gandhi is actual Mother of Corruption in India.
