mindless ass hole... write something new.. it is aware of everyone of us since day one and it is said again again and again..

Today's same old crap in new article.

Begumpet controls Shamshabad flights

Hyderabad, March 28: The Air Traffic Control unit at the defunct Begumpet airport is handling the flights to and from the new international airport at Shamshabad, though it is 35 km away. This is because the ATC unit in the new airport is yet to become fully operational. It is expected to be in working order only after three months. Until then, flights would have to take instructions from the air traffic controllers at Begumpet airport, which has officially stopped all operations.

Airports Authority of India officials say that the air traffic controllers have to acquaint themselves with the new systems being installed at Shamshabad and this will take some time. They argue that the distance would not pose any problem to smooth landing and take off of aircraft.

Italian company, Selex Communications, which has provided the latest equipment to the ATC unit at the new airport, has sent experts to train the staff to handle them. GMR-Hyderabad International Airport Limited had constructed the ATC tower as per the guidelines of AAI. It had also installed the equipment.

“We made all arrangements for air traffic control to function smoothly,” said Mr P.S. Nair, COO of GHIAL. “AAI officials will use the equipment only after completion of their training programme.” “The new systems are entirely different and so the ATC staff will have to undergo rigorous training,” said Mr R.K. Singla, AAI director for both the airports. He added that the ATC at Shamshabad would start operations only when the staff was confident enough to tackle the new systems. “It makes no difference for pilots that they are getting instructions from Begumpet since it has advanced technology and radar systems,” he said.

However, another airport official said that instructions from Begumpet airport might cause confusion.
“The KLM-873 Amsterdam-Hyderabad flight returned to Mumbai on the inaugural day as the pilots could not understand the instructions,” he said. “However, those problems are rectified now.”

Meanwhile, ATCs at Begumpet complain that the increased air traffic is taking a toll on their physical and mental health. “We need 141 ATCs to deal with the situation but there are only 58 here and some of them go for training,” said an air traffic controller.

4.3 Billion UK pounds investment of Heathrow T5 itself have issues and they had to shutdown baggage handling and ground the terminal for reasons of initial issues in understanding the technologies and familirization of the new systems in handling systems. They are one of the oldest airports operating 50 to 60 million passengers every day. Still they got into this as systems tend to fair initial days of inception.

GHAIL airport investment is 650 million USD and we are new to this new projects and we are trying to do our best and still problems happen.

read the news.. u MO FO..

Baggage halted at new £4.3bn T5

Flights from Heathrow's new £4.3bn Terminal 5 are departing with hand baggage only after luggage check-in was suspended due to a processing backlog.
British Airways, which has sole use of T5, announced check-in of all hold luggage was suspended until Friday.

The airline has already cancelled 34 flights because of baggage problems and passengers have had to wait up to four hours to reclaim their luggage.

BA said it "sincerely" apologised to all those customers affected.

'Refunds'

Angry scenes have also been developing in the airport's airside arrivals area, with pushing and shoving in "chaotic" passport control queues, the BBC's Priya Patel reported.

Travellers emerging from the baggage hall have told her that no luggage is coming through on carousels from arriving flights, and some complain that they have been waiting two to three hours for their bags.

Announcing the suspension of baggage check-in, Gareth Kirkwood, BA's director of operations, said: "We sincerely apologise to those customers who have suffered disrupted journeys or baggage delays.

We always knew the first day would represent a unique challenge because of the size and complexity of the move into Terminal 5. We are working extremely hard on solutions to these short term difficulties."

The airline is advising passengers to check in with hand baggage only if they wish to travel later, or to telephone BA if they want a refund or to rebook a flight.

BA has offered passengers on cancelled flights £100 towards the cost of overnight accommodation, but travellers have reported that local hotels are charging up to twice that figure.

German businessman, Hertz Merkel, flying to Dusseldorf, was one of those left waiting in the long queues at the terminal's check-in desks.

"This is real British organisation for you. I've only got hand baggage but I still have to stand in the same queue. It doesn't look like I'll be getting home today."

Maria Matheou, 20, a student from Greece who is studying in Leicester, said it was "ridiculous" to be told she could not take her bags.

"We can hardly go on holiday without our luggage. We did the check-in online at 3pm today, we got our boarding passes, we stood in line and then right at the last minute we were told we cannot take our luggage with us."

Check-in delays also meant that Ray Duffy, who was trying to return home on a flight to Edinburgh, was turned away from security because he was too late for his flight.

But after returning to the departure hall, he discovered he could no longer fly with his luggage.

"I just hope I get home. It's incredible. I've stood in line for an hour, I get to the front of the line and they just send me to the back of another line," he said.

'Teething problems'

The suspension of luggage check-in was just the latest problem to hit passengers hoping to leave T5 on its opening day.

BA earlier announced "initial teething problems" with car parking provision, delays in staff security screening and staff familiarisation had resulted in a backlog of baggage.

This led the airline to cancel a number of flights in and out of the terminal, including services to Munich, Frankfurt, Paris and Brussels as well as Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen.

A further technical fault also meant seven flights left T5 without luggage on board.

The BBC's transport correspondent Tom Symonds said the backlog was caused by problems with the airport's three-stage luggage processing system.

The first stage - the fast bag drop - was working as planned, he said. But the second stage, an underground conveyor system, had become clogged up.

This was being blamed on staff failing to remove luggage quickly enough at the final unloading stage.

In a statement, the Department for Transport said it expected BA and airport operator BAA "to work hard to resolve these issues and limit disruption to passengers".

Earlier, hundreds of protesters - wearing Stop Airport Expansion T-shirts and opposed to plans for a third runway and sixth terminal at Heathrow - carried out a peaceful protest at the terminal.

BA has set up an information line for T5 passengers: 0800 727800

There were many Initial issues and GHAIL is doing its best part to resolve them. It is the small and private airlines who playing the spoilsport with no-support and no-information policy to screw up the image so that the airport authorities come to their terms. Didn't you get that side of the story? For ur fucking brains u must have known it by now.

No information on gates, boarding passes and airline locations is not an issue of GHAIL.. it is the minimum responsiblity of the airline u purchased ticket to provide that information. Airlines do not want to spend a single penny to lease space and signage to display their airline logos and information. In international airports everything comes at a price and the airlines knew it. You spend ur fcuking journalistic skills to bring these unethical practices to light and make them straight.. instad of throwing some crap out of it.

Exorbinat prices for food and coffee - is not an issue of GHAIL as commedities and goods prices are controlled by RDO of that region.

Seating arrangements for all the visitors is not possible in any airport in the arrival and departure areas outside security area.

Roads and connectivity are not issue of GHAIL. it is the fxukcing responsibility of Govt. Go fxuk YSR and gang and selfish media and politicians who delayed with law suits and cases and what not.

farm Tractors are not used for airport cargo handling and it is illegal to use such hazardoes equipment in handling airports of that nature? did nt you notice voilation of law by private airlines?

Hindu on Airport implementation. GMR mentioned that they will build a new terminal only for low fare airlines and operators like in Malaysia and spore. dont u see news.. fcuker?

Shamshabad airport to have terminal for low-cost airlines

Special Correspondent

User development fee on international travellers likely

-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------

International airport confronted with teething troubles, admits official

53 trials conducted in various aspects of running the airport

-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------

HYDERABAD: The GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL) will have an exclusive terminal for low-cost airlines, taking cue from Singapore and Malaysia airports, according to A. Viswanath, vice-president (corporate planning and risk management).

Also, domestic travellers will not have to pay any user development fee (UDF) until the proposed regulator fixes the amount. “We have not decided the date from which to levy the UDF on international travellers. It may begin sometime next month after the services optimise to a certain level,” said Mr. Viswanath at an international conference on infrastructure here on Thursday.

Making no bones in admitting that the new international airport was confronted with teething troubles, he urged the passengers to bear with the company till the initial glitches were resolved. He observed that challenges became known only after a project was put in place. Creating infrastructure was just 20 per cent of a project, while the rest lay in putting life into it. Only then would public-private partnership projects click, he observed.

Litmus test

The GHIAL, he said, conducted 53 trials with 42 agencies involved in various aspects of running the airport, including security, immigration, customs, various retail stores and concessionaires. Embedding all of them into the new system was quite a task. Though the trials were very successful “the ultimate litmus test is the first passenger” said Mr. Viswanath. “After the first passenger arrived, our problems began to surface,” he observed.

Giving an account of what new airports would encounter, Mr. Viswanath said that the first 10 to 12 days, it would be a havoc-like situation. “At this stage, we try to stop crumbling.” In the next phase (stabilisation within two months), the integrated services would be optimised. After the sustaining phase of four to five months, one could see the smile on the faces of passengers.

Regarding connectivity, he felt that phased improvement would surely impress the passenger experience in travelling from and to the new airport.

An issue with electrical outlet is an internal issue and it need be a national headline on the front page.. u mother fcuker. learn from Hindu. This is very common issue in any airline and airport. I have been through a situation in mumbai sitting for 6 hours in the aircraft tarmac from 1 AM to 6:45 AM.. due to some passengers are missing in the terminal and aircraft can not take off without them.

Indian travellers ‘locked’ in plane

Hyderabad, March 27: Passengers of IC-839 flight were forced to stay put in the aircraft for half-an-hour in the wee hours of Thursday thanks to a tussle between the ground handling staff and the airline’s crew. Trouble broke out as the Air India-Singapore Airport Terminal Services (AI-SATS) staff failed to provide ground power unit to the aircraft, which arrived from New Delhi at 12.10 am. The doors of the aircraft are usually not opened until power backup is provided by the ground handling section. However, the power unit could not be arranged due to technical problems as anxious passengers were asked to stay put in the plane.

An embarrassed air crew could not convince the passengers about the delay in opening the aircraft doors. “Ground handling should be smooth. Otherwise, we can’t convince the passengers. We never faced such problems in Begumpet,” said a member of the air crew. GMR-Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) authorities said private ground handling companies should set things right at the earliest. “We hope everything will be alright in a few days. We request the airlines’ staff and passengers to bear the initial hiccups,” said a spokesperson of GHIAL.
