roju morning milk with museli or milo

then 25 min walk to office

one cup cofee at 9am

lunch at 12pm with some pulusu (less oil) plus rice
+cofee


3pm one cup tea


4.30pm 25 min walk


5.30 pm dinner with curry + curd


6.30 pm fruit salad with low fat custard

8-9 pm swimming

10pm sleep

Before going to gym eat a few ground nuts or badam it will give you energy to do a good workout.

After Gym make sure you eat 1 banana and 1 scoop of protein within 10 min of completion.

Fogot to add 1 scoop of protein in lunch and 1 scoop in the afternoon. after a couple of hours after lunch.

snacks: people like to eat around 10:30 and around 3-5 PM.

Humous different flavours-Homous is a veg food made of chick peas ground with lemon/corriander/etc to add flavours. this is used as a dip for OAT CAKES(black pepper ones will taste good) or rice/wheat cakes with pumpkin or sunflower or mixed seads..they will be tasty as well.

Chicken you can get a lot of flavours and even grilled etc under fillers sections..

You also get processed chicken as layers(slices) along with turkey.

You also get Tuna fish filler along with sweet corn.

Try different ones till you find out which one you like

Bread : Buy brown bread with sunflower or pumpkin seeds or mix of seeds. this will be at least twice the price of the normal white bread.

Assuming most Indians eat only chicken and fish and some turkey as well.

The good thing about the above three are all useful for lean muscle and quick recovery of muscles.Especially if you want to look lean and strong.

The hard diet for NRI..s

Breakfast:
1 pack cornflakes with cold milk(don't use warm milk)..Don't buy the large packs for 500/750 gms one to save money. but the 50/75 gms ones..

4-5 egg whites..(please throw the yellow)-eggs are the cheapest food outside India.

1 scoop of protien drink( any whey will do as long as you go for branded one). Protein drink does not mean steroids..drugs etc...Whey is an extract of milk.

The only thing you can change is two slices of brown bread + orange juice instead of the cornflakes in milk.

The above diet is to help your day to kick off with loads of energy..or else your will be drowsy and week from the previous days workout.

to achieve six pack abs you must remember that you should loose a lot of fat. The thumb rule is if the Fat% in your body is less than 10 % the abs start to show up. Once you tuch anywhere near 8% you can start walking without shirt In india and 6% you can start walking in USA...and Europe and Australia as well.

Abs is not about lossing weight..please understand and remember this. It is about the fat ratio in your body.

To the best of my knowledge..

Morning water helps you to rehydrate as you have no input fluids for a long time. and Also it will help you to excrete so that there will not be any farting in office.

Before food water helps you not to fill up your stomach with FOOD if you do not have the discipline.

I always find it difficult to implement the above two timings as I am not that organised. But rather I would drink as much of water as I can as soon as I finish eating. At least 1/2 litre( 1 chembu neelu min) there by you are gauranteed 1.2 litres every day and in between 1 litre easily.

If i do workout during workout another litre.I find this easier to remember and practice.

For fish 45min t0 1 hour max. check if it is crispy on the skin. Then remove the skin and eat. you can eat this with small portion of rasam or sambar rice as well if you can't eat on it's own.

Prawn it will take .5hr max time ..you will really enjoy this just like roast cashew lekka tv chusthu veseya vatchu.

Dinner for basics:

Indian style:
Imp: Try to eat by 6:30pm, if not you have to be awake for 3 hours at least.Replace basmati rice with anyother rice if you are using. Eat only half plate rice.

No Dal and potato/fried curry during dinner.

Any curry/rasam and sambar is OK try to use min oil and salt.Rice should be only half plate at any cost.

If you can cook chapathi and other stuff don't eat more than 3 chapati's.


1 glass of butter milk without salt/sugar..Add lemon/ginger/curry leaves for taste.Very imp don't add sugar and salt to it.

Western style:

Grilled chicken/fish/shrimp(prawn)lamb-Tandoori or tikka stle very easy to cook.
Add tandoori masala or tikka masala with little bit of yougurt/ ginger garlic paste/little chilli powder/salt/lemon mix them and apply to the non-veg and keep in fridge for 1 hour.

Then keep them in oven at a temp of 100C for nearly 2 hours for chicken..Do not remove the skin. Only then you will get the chicken moist and soft. If not you will get hard and like dead meat stuff. cut the chicken with knife if it is white like paint then it is cooked well remove the skin and eat.

Ab crunches help to build muscle around the abdomen area. If your goal is to reduce tummy, then you need to burn the fat but please do remember that you cant reduce fat around a particular part of the body. So, you need to reduce the fat content. Bottom line, cardio+crunches+proper diet=flat abs

pda mama someoone told me to take fruits in the evening because..

if you take fruits in the evening(after 4 hours from lunch when your stomach is empty)..fruits will not give even a single calorie (what ever fruit you may eat) ...and they dissolve in body and no waste and fully hygine for body...

sokesh.. it depends on what you work out in gym.. if you run 30-40 mins or boat row you get dehydrated very very fast.. you need to replenish your body..I usually carry gatorade to stretch 4 miles to 5 when I run
eat pickle(american) for salt. If you go to gym, eat more salt, iron, fiber

i eat
1. oatmeal for break fast
2.either chapathi with curry(not any fry) or noodles for lunch(no oil in making chapathi or noodles)
3.fruit at 3pm in office and little snack like 2 buscuits or another fruit at 5pm at home
4.rice or chapathi with curry(not fry) for dinner

for every week ...i will have one dinner at chineese ...one dinner at burger king or something ....two dinners at subway (all these without any chese or mainnaise or sauces)

i am following this for 4 months and i reduced around 25 pounds

note: some exceptions are there ..when i went to tours for 2-3 times i ate a lot ..

Oatmeal is also very good/you can replace it with museli..But don't eat bars they are full of sugar.

Superstores lo ammutharu museli/oats branded and non branded..

Without exercises public chudali ante 6-8 weeks

Always drink water after you eat anything ..Minimum .5 lts../1 chembu neelu/1 pint.It is good for your teeth and good for people around you so that you don't smell bad.

In the afternoon after couple of hours.At least 2 hours. Eat any fruit you like or Tea with as min milk as you can. Coffee not recommended.

Buy a packet of Favourite fruit you like and leave at your workdesk. It wil come for a week as you should use it as a replacement for chips and coke(snacking alternative).

Don't eat pakodi/bajji/samosa--you will see the benefits within 1 month your collegues will see it in your face.

Bakery joluki povadhu..

The skin lo mudduru(roughness) pothadi even if you just follow good diet and don't go to GYM.

Nanju/Touching ki...Dont eat chips/karapusa/vodiyalu etc..They are as worst as Fries.


Western..
Don't eat Food in any of the takeaway stuff.(MacD/Wendys/BK) etc which serve with fries. Just forget it.It will help you look good and save a lot of money.Any Deep fried stuff will destroy you. You are bound to eat out with your friends/family at least once a month if not a week outside food.so avoid your lunch being that.

Alternative if you are comfortable with sandwiches. You will get what is called fillers in any of the superstores . There will at least 10 varities(Egg/Tuna/chicken varities-hot/spicy stuff) then you will have what is called layers(cooked meat) etc. Buy Jalapenoes/and olives if you like.

Make sandwich with the above fillers and add Jalapenoes/olvies/onions and pepper. It will almost be like Subway sandwich. Avoid the sauces they are real suckers.They will spoil the whole balance. The taste should be good to great depending upon how often you eat sandwiches.

Lunch for Basic's

Please do not eat deep fried vegetable curries( some people cook okra(ladies finger) that way.Oil lo devina kuralu.Egg Fry/chicken fry etc...

Good ones are: Any thokkudu pacchada/any type of pappu with vegetables/try to decrease salt as much as you can. to counter that add garlic and ginger paste and other spices which do not affect your body to add taste. Eat chicken curry/mutton/fish or anything meat curry..only the pieces the gravy should not be touched in hotels/mess unless cooked at home with less oil and salt.

The best I would recommend is the one which has omega in it. It will be at least 2 times the price of normal milk. Don't drink in large amounts.

There is lot of good food around.. so I would first suggest the bad food to avoid. The bad food is classifed into 3 categories depending upon your goals. 1 being simple goals...3 being six pack goals.

Start off with the basic.
Western:
Breakast mistakes: Don't use warm milk with cornflakes.. use cold milk.

Best Break fast is museli with drydates+ mixed nuts available in all grocery superstores(wall mart/sams/asda/tesco's)Australia lo shop la perlu theliyavu.etc

Indian breakfast: Please don't eat Puri and Vada anything that is deepfried.You have to avoid them at any cost

Best breakfast: Iddly with peanut chutney( no perforated ghee or any form of oil).

So you now know what is required to do to loose weight. Eat less calories but not less food.So you have to be wise on what you eat. I always believed that good looking bodies are made in kitchen not in Gym.

My intention to start this thread is to share and gain knowledge on how to gain fitness and look good.

Primarily I will discussing about the following things.

1. How to loose weight. Under what circumstances will you loose weight.
2.What is the deit I can easily follow( Indian/Mix of both Western and Indian)
3. Last Weight Training.


I will also share everyday GYM routine and the weights I have done along with reps. I have been doing pretty focused for the last month or so and i have seen good results. I was a gym going guy right from my 10th class. But first time ever i am concentrating on how to look good rather than have a few bulky parts.

Please do ask questions if you feel that something I am doing is wrong or will not produce good results or can be done better to achieve my goal of looking athletic.
