These are the market conditions no one predicted. some predicted the downturn but not this level of severity. Even buffett is not correct at least in the short term. In these tough times, in my opinion, just stay put. If you really don't need that money you invested (assuming you bought good quality stocks) any time soon, then don't sell. It's worst time to sell. most of the declines are due to hedge funds unwinding of the huge leverage. No one really knows where the bottom is but if you are in for long run, then buy little bit of good stock with best dividend paying history. These are the chances to buy some. Probably I said the same when DOW tanked 900 points in one day few weeks ago. but again, no one can really pick the top or bottom, at least not consistently. If you have money and don't want to take risk in the market, then buy little bit of gold. |

y'day one.
I dont think fundamentals changed. ( i.e. more job creations or consumer/industrial confidance etc. Low OIL prices are common during fall to early SPING.)
I tired to compare this crash with 87 & 29 one.
In both cases, it droped to Brer market lows two or three times before Bull run. So expect 8K again in next 3 months. Before 8K, DOW may touch10 to 11K after election.) But still we are in BEAR MARKET |
