Recently, Rajan's lieutenant Balu Dokre was butchered on a Kuala Lumpur street by Dawood's hit squad. There are indications that Chhota Rajan is preparing to hit back by targeting a prominent member of the Dawood gang. |

Interestingly, Chhota Rajan's brother Deepak Nikhalje had himself produced superhit movie Vaastav inspired by Nana's life. Rajan, who was once a ticket tout outside Chembur's Sahakar theatre, went on to become one of the most feared dons in Mumbai. In the film, the chief protagonist, played by Sanjay Dutt, is killed but in real life Chhota Rajan has survived several attempts on his life by Dawood's men. Today he occupies the numero uno position on the D Company's hit-list.

MUMBAI: Underworld don Chhota Rajan has warned noted film director Ram Gopal Varma against glorifying Karachi-based don Dawood Ibrahim in Varma's soon-to-be released movie, D . Rajan is learnt to have called up the director a few weeks ago and asked for details of the film's story. Only after he was assured that the movie was pure fiction and not based on Dawood's life did Chhota Rajan okay its release. |
