The clothing that the actors and actresses wore in India I suspect is authentic. Yes, most of the time it was Western clothing, but thats probably because thats what they wear most of the time in India: western clothing. I think the people who would know that the best would be the creaters of the film who ACTUALLY live in India.

The feelings and love expressed in the film arereal life. Yes, there is singing and dancing instead of kissing, but I can totally see a girl going with a guy because he adores her and she doesn't necessarily love him. And I see Ash's character falling for Darcy's persistent love. Either you were asleep for half the movie, or just couldn't see the love expressed through song and dialouge. Not every love movie has to have making-out as a sign of affection and love. If the film did that, it truely would be a insult to Indian culture, but rather the film is expressive and deals with issues that are within all of us.

But this movie is just so FAKE, even Americans wont buy it. Do you seriously think that girls in Punjab live like as Ash was living in the movie? Come on this is so not realistic.

Ash has no acting talent. She may be the worse actress ever. NO emotions what so ever. I agree she can be a model but acting is just not for her. And funny thing is that she has no common sense either. In her interviews in talk shows and 60 minutes, she acted so childish and dumb that its shame when she says she is from India. Sushmita Sen is 1000 times better than her.

Its funny when Ash says that she wont kiss in movies, yet she still wear cloths that I have never seen Julia Robert wearing. She is acting like Britney Spears, when Britney was showing her body as much as she could yet calling her self a virgin. Which I know Indian movie lovers buy in their Hindi movies. But I don’t think westerns gonna buy. COME On.. when does a girl come out in mini shirt and hug a guy in rain for hours and have no sexual feeling? Its NOT possible for any straight woman or man. Hindi movies try to be very modern and hip..But yet they never look real.

Hollywood Directors don’t take Indian movies/actors seriously and they are right about that. Indian movie are not worth anything. There are very few good actors in India. Amir khan in one of them. I hope Amir khan gets a chance to make some big international movies. HE is such a great actor and not afraid to trying new things….when he is acting it don’t seems like he is acting..he always look Original
