India is world's 4th largest economy



India is the fourth largest economy in the world in Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) terms, according to the World Bank’s figures for 2004.
India moves up from fifth to fourth place, behind the US, China and Japan. The figures for each country are:


USA - US$ 8351 billion
China - US$ 4112.2 billion
Japan - US$ 3042.9 billion
India - US$ 2144.1 billion
Further, India is also ahead of six of the G-8 countries - Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Canada and Russia.
