In response to inquiries regarding Kobe Bryant’s comments in the media today requesting a trade, Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss has issued the following statement:
“We are aware of the media reports. However, Kobe has not told us directly that he wants to be traded. We have made it very clear that we are building our team around Kobe and that we intend for him to be a Laker his entire career. We will speak directly to Kobe and until we do that, we will not comment publicly about this.”
this speaks volumes that Lakers is Kobe and vice versa.
Lakers is his team and no matter what he does and how he does they dont want to give him up. |

Yeah that is true, i think Jim Buss tried to calm down Kobe by stating and unknown insider that Kobe was responsible for Kobe's trade and i think Kobe somehow got to know that the unknown insider is none other than Jim Buss, that's why he is not even giving a second option just trade.
I hope they won't let Jim Buss and Mitch trade kobe instead some good brains trade him and get something good in return and save Lakers Franchise.
I think Jerry Buss came to know about this on Tuesday night and he boozed a lot and roaming with a 23 year old.
Shame on his part.
Now Kobe won't back Off unless they fire Mitch and take away Jim Buss from basket ball operations which is not going to happen.
So Lakers are gone at the same time when Yankess are falling.
I think same thing will happen to Arod and yankess next year.

Maybe you are right - there is no "Scottie" or consistent role palyer on the team.
My whole poitn is knowing KOBE - why di the franchise not reolve the issue and play into his weakness.
I am totally dissapointed because I am a Laker fan - and I beleive the game is bigger than the team which is in turn bigger than any player. I styed with the LAKERS even when Shaq was gone - although I really liked him
At that time I even appreciated Buss for his dynamic business decision to save the Lakers -

Kobe is playing his best past 2 years and they is just enough to make play offs.
Take out kobe and put any other star in the league Lakers will compete with Portland or Memphis for Last place.
Jerry Buss thought giving Phil would be enough to calm kobe and with junk roster even Phil is helpless.
All this outburst started after Phil spoke to Kobe on Tuesday about Lakers plans.
Meaning they don't want to make any moves and want to develop for future.
So what's wrong in demanding a trade to a contender.
Everyone won't be like KG.

Bignole maama still at this point i don't see nothing wrong with Kobe.
Kobe kept faith with lakers and signed with them in 2004.
Just imagine lakers roster without kobe in 2004.
Shaq was not traded because of Kobe it's a business decision maama, even if u r the owner u will do that.
Yeah Miami got one championship but they are screwed royally in wade's prime with Sahq's contract.
He cann't play and his contract won't allow them to sign any good players.
Only bad thing was what Lakers got in return for Shaq.
Now if Kobe keeps on playing for Lakers he won't get a ring and just keep on hitting shots.
That doesn't make sense for kobe nor lakers.
So trading him is best option since they want to rebuild around Bynum for future.
But i know Micth will make some junk trade get something like Steve Francis contract in return.
If Kobe cann't win a ring with Lakers what's wrong in demanding trade so that he can win a ring with some other contender.
He asked them to improve the team and Mitch cann't do that then trade him.
He kept his loyality with the lakers and saved them in 2004 and in return Jr Buss tried to blame and Black mail him in media for trading Shaq and this is what they got.
So live with it.
If kobe had signed with clippers or Bulls in 2004 just imagine Lakers now and Clippers.
Nothing wrong in Kobe demanding trade.

That fact withstanding - the Lakers have given him enough space and resaon to excercise his demons (pernality traints) to the very fullest -

Some of your points are very valid. Mitch Kupchak is a very very bad Gm. Shaq has reiterated this fact a 100 times over. Kobe has his own share of attitude problesm but I am sure that he is condiering a few more shots at the title now that he is in his prime and LA is not going to do it for him.
LA is in a perrenial rebuliding loop and has the most ridiculous off season VALUE of all temas - NET ZERO TRADE VALUE -
Injured Odom, ever developing/injured Kwame and and some oddball role players with minimal value - annd Buss Sr aint spending. Jr Buss and Jenie are dissing each other -
What a ripe moment for Kobe to ignite a firestorm so that the farchise will collpase and we have Mr. Mitch "Set to Ruin" Kupchak at helm and the only man that could stop him "The Logo" is in shuttling between Hawaii Sun and Memphis barbeque.

The bottom line - in a week from now will LA be bulinding a team around Andre BYNUM - the kid who was benched for not helping the team despite haveing a legendry center coah (Kareem) all for himself.

I think it's fair for him to ask to be Traded.
For the last 3 years Jerry Buss is making money and putting in his pocket just beacuse of Kobe and not ready to spend anything to make them a contender.
Mitch screwed the team to a level now that they cann't make any changes that will take them to that elite level.
So the only option is trade Kobe and get some young peaces in return and rebuild around Bynum for future as the Future owner Jr Buss says.
Mitch will screw this trade also and get a fat contract like Brian Grant and some role players for kobe and will rebuilding for ever.
Buss will finally sell the team and fans will loose interest.
I think Yankees and Lakers are collapsing around the same time.
Next year ARod will bolt Yankess and they will be in the same boat.
