Details:
Hindu Temples, Institutions & Hinduism itself are unfairly targeted by Governments in India. Using Hindu Temple Endowment Act Looting, Selling, Encroachments are occurring all over India. Particularly alarming is the situation in Andhra Pradesh (AP) where decimation of Hinduism in a short period of time is looming large.
Under AP CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy (YSR)
About 34,000 Temples are under Govt. control & only 18% is said to be given back for temples maintenance. Looting, Massive sale of temple lands, Demolition, Encroachments, aggressive religious conversions in temples vicinity occurring all over AP. Govt. which is supposed to be a protector has become perpetrator that threatens the very existence of Hindu Institutions. Most sacred Tirupathi temple is specially targeted.

Ø YSR Govt. Attempted to take over 5 out of 7 Tirumala Hills for Churches and Tourism. (Hindu 7/17/06)
Ø YSR is alleged to use TTD money for Hockey Tournament in his parents names. (Deccan Chronicle, 3/8/07, Eeenadu, 1/20/07)
Ø Vice Chancellor of Padmavathi University, Veena Noble Das appointed by YSR Govt. is engaging in forcible conversions and is alleged to be responsible for death of a Hindu Student. (YSR Govt. is giving her a honorary position in AP legislature). (Andhra Jyothy, 3/30/07).
Ø YSR Govt. eyed only Hindu (TTD) funds for Jala Yagnam to tune of 500 crores. (Justandhram.com, 3/22/06).
Ø YSR Son Jagan, blew up a temple in Anantpur. (Andhra Jyothy, 9/8/06).
Ø YSR brother Vivekananda Reddy build personal property on Gurukul trust lands worth many crores . (Hindu, 3/9/07).
Ø YSR Govt. allowed demolition of 10 temples for building a Golf Course . (Deccan Chronicle, 3/8/07).
Ø YSR Govt. levied a surcharge of 50% on Mahasivarathri day to discourage poor Hindus going to temples. Compare this 12,000 Rs/- per pilgrim to Haj and Govt. plan to pay for trips to Bethlehem). (Eenadu, 2/16/07, Deccan Chronicle, 12/18/06).
Ø YSR Govt removed Sri Rama Navami day from the list of Govt. Holidays. Major Hindu holidays are selected to be replaced with secular holidays. (Andhra Jyothy, 4/5/07).
Ø Attempted to take over hundreds of acres of temples lands in East Godavari district for YSR Govt. Indiramma Scheme. (Hindu, May 31, 2006).
Ø Tied up with Cherian Heart Foundation, a Christian Organization and the TTD Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences using 100 crores of TTD money. Also, employed Christian Organization to procure Prasadam materials for TTD. (The Economic Times, 5/16/05)
Ø YSR Govt. is planning to take over cash rich temple Mutts, first step in looting them. (Deccan Chronicle, 3/12/07)
Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy is an evangelical Christian. His actions show little regard to respect for all religions. His actions suggest a well designed plan to decimate Hinduism in Andhra Pradesh through destruction of Hindu Institutions and abetting massive illegal conversions. The entire state infrastructure is made available for these activities.
Areas surrounding every major Hindu Temple has become center of intense conversion activity. Endowment Dept. permits enormous Christian prayer meeting on temple lands with advertisements in temples. All these activities are to encourage Hindus to convert.
The Major chunk of temple money is transferred for various political schemes while more than 40,000 Priests are given salary below Rs.500 /- Month and over 3,000 Priest are paid only Rs. 400 /- for the whole year. While Muslim and Christian institution funds are left untouched, Govt. relentlessly targets Hindu (e.g., TTD) money for various projects.
Please Don't Standby and Watch. Take Action and Fight for Dharma. Join the protest and march for your temples, for civil rights.
Demand that Govt. stop meddling with Hindu temples and demand to stop abetting massive illegal conversions.
