Megastar Chiranjeevi made Thumbs Up a household name by bringing by lending his goodwill to it. Later, he discontinued the campaign after pressure from NGOs and certain politicians who openly attacked him on this issue. Now, the cola major has signed another superstar � Prince Mahesh Babu to promote the brand in Andhra Pradesh. Though, the news is not confirmed yet sources close to the actor have confirmed this.
This is not Mahesh�s first association with the brand. Earlier, his movie Nijam had a co-promotional tie up with Thumbs Up. Mahesh is the latest star to turn a brand ambassador for Cola brand after Chiranjeevi for Thumbs Up and Pawan Kalyan for Pepsi. Also last year Thumbs Up was in negotiation with another young hero with macho image to be the brand ambassador, but he turned it down. The commercial would be shot soon and would go on-air before summer.

Mahesh Babu’s Rs.8 Crore Contract
Mahesh Babu is signing on Thumbs Up Contract at Rs. 8 Crore as per reliable information. After Chiranjeevi, it’s Mahesh Babu who is endorsing the Cola brand for AP area. Mahesh is now busy with the film Atidhi and at the same time got a call from Mumbai regarding Cola Endorsing. The news is not officially out yet. Mahesh Babu has to okay the proposal. The Rs 8 Crore Contract is for 3 years.
If everything goes well, we may see Mahesh Babu holding the soft drink bottle in TVs and hoardings. |
