Power star Pawan kalyan's and Megawatt star Manchu Manoj's careers have trodden similar paths and present an opportunity for an interesting analysis.
Lets begin with PK. His path breaking hit Kushi paved the way for a new trend in terms of stories, costumes, dances. Millions of teenage girls from all over the world became his fans. They passed down this fanism to their sons and daughters which explains his current popularity among the kid folk. After kushi, pawan decided not to act anymore for he has painted THE masterpiece. But tremendous pressure from his own earned fan following made him to act. He continued even though he knew in his mind that this is not something he wanted to do. So began the string of debacles - johhny, balu, GS, Bangaram and the latest Annavaram. Had he put his heart into the movies he would have been the greatest multitalented (dances,dialogues,fights and what not!) telugu star. Sadly the burden of being power star is just overwhelming. Add to the that the additional pressure put by his own brother by delivering hit after hit. So i request all genuine movie lovers to lower their expectations and save the industry from losing a versatile genius.
That brings us to the Megawatt star Manchu manoj. His first movie donga dongadi was a run away hit. His vivacious screen presence, foot tapping numbers and graceful moves made him a household name in telugu land. The fan following obtained from his father grew by leaps and bounds.This is where he ended up with the same problem as the power star. He lost interest in movies and wanted to take up horticulture. His brother cool star vishnu started delivering back to back hits which resulted in fans demanding more from him. So same story as above. It would be a shame to lose such a talented personality to plants.
So all fans including mask fans Please save the film industry! |
