>>Varma is now planning a sequel to his latest masterpiece

masterpiece my foot !!!
chetta cinema..i remember one of the earlier promos of the film that showed an out of focus large crowd ....sound of a van...and a frail
arm emerging from the van .. a slight wave at the crowd...And I thought a masterpiece was in the making.
Couldnt have been more wrong.

wheres the fucking attention to detail?? bachchan has an almost north indian bollywood accent. just wasnt ghati enough for the role.
this is unpardonable..because bachchan is a pro in getting just the right degree of accent for every role. supriya pathak I am gald to see does not miss this part.also I would have liked bachchans character to be a little more physically frail...anywaysmaybe thats how varma conceived the char as..

BGM - God father choosi nerchkunadi idena?? godfather is a text book for film makers w.r.t BGM. yenta sparse ga use chestaadu bgm
godfather lo yet it is so effective. here we have a very subhash ghai style loud cooked up mantras at the most inappropriate
moments... abhishek villains nunchi tappinchukuni paaripotunte background lo temple bells, mantras, govinda govinda etc

sarkar is supposedly a character who has the entire city in his grips..this never came out effectively anywhere..his relation
with this city over which he has an invincible control is not shown at all...In satya, the city itself is an important character.
here sarkars relation with the city that he controls is not to be seen anywhere...

cinematic bollywood cliches galore...the dumb ill defined women characters (hospital lo andaru group lo urkutunte navu aagaledu).. comic villains..loud inappropriate bgm, typical
bollywood dialogue, ... ..when the irritating girl playing chess with sarkar tells him she is not scared of losing the game,
and sarkar goes ' aur zindagi ke khel mein haarogi to' how one wishes anurag kashyap was back in varmas factory. was there no one on the
sets there who cringed on hearing this piece of shit

varma would do good to entrust his brilliant ideas to the bloke who directed ab tak chappan (aamir shahid???)

Plus POints :

Big Bs introductory shot..menacing eyes, slight smile et al..
a couple of shots of abhishek glowering at the camera
Varmas introductory prologue talking about godfathers influence and how sarkar is the last of his trilogy on urban crime and punishment.

Sequel to 'Bunty Aur Babli'?

Bunty Aur Babli
While the sequel to 'Dhoom' is yet to begin, the rumour is that the Chopra family is keen to make a sequel to 'Bunty Aur Babli' as well! Unfortunately, Abhishek Bachchan does not have dates for the next few months, as he is committed to as many as four or five new projects. Ditto for Rani Mukerji.

Let's wait and watch to see when the plans materialize

A sequel to Sarkar

By IndiaFM News Bureau, August 02nd 2005 - 1450 hrs IST

Here's an addition to the list of sequels being planned in Bollywood. And this might perhaps top the list of all upcoming sequels. The brainchild behind it is none other than the maverick man Ram Gopal Varma. So after announcing a remake of Sholay, Varma is now planning a sequel to his latest masterpiece Sarkar that is still fascinating audiences at the cinema-halls. Ramu is so impressed with the father-son duo of Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan that he says the sequel in a way is his excuse to work with the Bachchans again.

So while Sarkar was an adaptation of Godfather, will the sequel to be inspired from Godfather 2? This is something that only time will tell.

Seems like Varma is completely smitten by Big B's charisma. After Sarkar, he has already completed Darna Zaroori Hai with Bachchan and is planning the Sholay remake and Sarkar sequel with him. But the Sarkar sequel will only follow the Sholay remake
