420 :Bemmi bedar .. chr(12) is a break char ,
for example ,
select Instr('a'|| chr(12),chr(12)) from dual would give you 2 ..
I meant , when you load the content into a buffer using UTL_FILE.getline
on the bufferVariable i asked if u could use instr(urBufferVar,chr(12)) .
if it returns greater than Zero , u could then increment ur counter ..

penkul..page break 55, 109, 163, 217 ala vasthundi ani ala logic raasam program ki..kaani madhyalo ekkado change ayyindi aa sequence..so data sarigga load avvaledu..so instead of going withe line count, we thought of finding ^L the line and then reset the count... |

^L = ctrl L = page break
While generating the text file .. page size was/ is set to some number say x lines and then page break.
Well use a regular expression and get all the count pageBreaks in ur txt file or , every new line use INSTR function check is ^L exists in the new line buffer ..

I am reading a txt file and loading that into a table using a pl/sql program. ayithe ^L anedi new line feed or something anukunta. aa character ragane nenu count ane varible ni 0 ki set chesukovali..kaani how to recognize that character?
I tried to match that with CHR(10), but its not working..also I tried CHR(13) || CHR(10). still didn't work??
