temple set was good but bad economics. spending so much for a sentimental story is preposterous when they could have used to real temples around.

just saw arjun in Chicago. hello Sollu mama and Jammu mama, I thought u guys would come,pchh.
ok coming to movie, after okkadu attempting a sentiment movie is really a challenging movie for Guna sekhar and Mahesh.
Even though Arjun is a sister sentiment movie, the narration is very innovative, compare mudallaya mavayya and Arjun narration. we still find muddula mavayya style movies in telugu cinema where melodrama is inserted to show that a brother loves his sister very much. not much change in that narration which is a sad thing but with Arjun Gunasekhar showed his talent.
some innovative choices in Arjun (these necessarily dont make it a good movie but just I am listing things I found):
1. We dont have much stories in telugu of fraternal twins.
2. Couple rejoicing murders.
3. in Okkadu Gunasekhar invented a new style of fights where when the hero hits the villain it is rolled fast on the screen to show a wonderful effect, in Arjun he stops the frame when hero hits the villains for a sec. it is really an innovative technique as it gave the after effect the audience feels before he hits the shot as audience are lured to imagine the effect before delivering the blow.
4. Hero works on his intuition, this is rare thing in telugu cinema where sometimes our heros doesnt realise untill said explcitly.
5. complete movie is voice over narration style where hero grunts his resent over the events.
now coming to bad choices
1. special effects: excessive usage of special effects which were preposterous, if they have just used for climax truck chase that was ok but swinging in the air and kicking in the air was too much.
but the interval shot where he kicks in the mid air was very good composition but they should have used only that special effect in entire first half to give a spectacular effect to audience.
2. temple set was good but bad economics. spending so much for a sentimental story is preposterous when they could have used to real temples around.
graphics, temple set were all part of a package to merge the sister sentiment into a fans and family movie.
on the whole movie was good except for excessive usage of special effects.
