This review looks like the one given by a hardcore pavan fan so no wonder there are no negatives mentioned and I guess he only glorified the positives beyond comprehension.

that way, we can apportion all the blame/credit on him for all of his movies. as you must be knowing screenplay is way different from story. a solid story with a weak screenplay will run but a weak story with a weak screenplay will crumble. He must have had his say in finalizing it - yes, but am not sure if he created the story in the first place. two diff things

whats the much differnece between a story writer and a screen play writer for a pavan movie.
pavan will obviously pick up the movie if he gets excited about the the story line. so story line must also have been picked by him or approved by him and he is the screenplay writer, i can not imagine he did not have a say in the story.

didnt find a single negative view in his review- chalta as the reviewer is a hard core fan.
If the story is thin, how Pawan is responsible? He is not a writer nor the producer
pavan is the screen play writer and his brother is producer.

Hi guys,
I watched Gudumba Shankar on 18th at Artesia (CA) at 2 pm show. The show was to start at 2pm. I picked 3 more guys and drove Naz theatres. I made my friends to have good lunch since I don’t know whether GS would make us laugh or weep. I made them get prepared for any eventuality.
The mixed talk made me more curious to see what went wrong with the movie right from first letter of the title. We were first people at the theatre at 1.45pm. No signs of movie being shown there that time. Picked 4 tickets then thought ‘Oh we can relate now what we heard with what we gonna watch!’
Inside the theatre at 1.55pm. God theatre was totally empty barring 5-10 people. I felt delicate to be there at that time for a ill-talk effected movie. Got pissed off with the boring repeated commercials. Sympathized the movie screeners over there.
Time is ticking. 2pm…2.05pm…2.10pm… Believe me or not. People dropped inside the theatre faster than the time. Before we realize all most half the theatre is full. I requested my friends to keep a count on the spectators. They said 200+. I doubted but later we rechecked it and the count is intact.
I got some interest in the movie now. Yes now I got a chance to check where china boss slipped. The moment came. Good they dedicated this controversial movie to comedy legend Allu. Appreciable! Titles are ok. Honestly pawan put his areas of involvement and even Renuka figured there.
Bomma padindhi! Gudumba’s initial show gave me an impression of over dose of ordinary comedy. Chaltha! Demudu and his scenes were mere waste. The entry of Mangathaayaru not much impressive. Her diction was a fiction for some minutes. When the movie proceeded further we forgot her voice modulation in her cute expressions. Meera is not a bad selection. She is watchable. She didn’t emote anything since there is no need for that. Thus heroine is not a negative factor for the movie.
The first song Le Le Le. As expected it was a street song. Shot among the mass and with elements of social issues. Here our boss opted out of good steps and remained a passive spectator to the events shown in the song. This is how he disappointed the folks who predicted excellent steps for the fine tunes of Mani Sharma. It’s a wrong assessment of the fans likings. Prabhu Deva side stepped here. Barring that the song Chaltha!!
Then going deep into the movie. It doesn’t take much time to predict that this movie story is woven around a vapor thin wedding incident. This thought made me very nervous how the screenplay will be taken care and where is the tempo for satiating the requirements of front rows. I immediately recollected movies like Andaz Apna Apna, Chupke Chupke which are run on the tracks of comedy.
The essence of comedy carried out through out the movie without losing sight of reasonability. There were no boring scenes. The director and screenplay writer picked and pushed number of comic roles. At one point of time there is even confusion how they will handle all those characters. I can say happily both have succeeded in distributing each one’s piece in the cake. The comedy is neither classic nor mediocre. Chalthaa!!!
Slowly rolled into final scenes. I thought that was the end when Kumara Swamy repents and disappears from the scene.Then it is a predictable one. Then what will be the thrill? Yes there is extension where the temple scene and final fight.
Now my time has come for my judgment. First I checked up with my 3 other colleagues among whom 2 are neutral. Each one said it’s ‘Chalthaa’. Please tell one more word. One said it is not bad and one said it is hit. They asked me – I said I am in between!
OK. To cut the crap short – I really felt for the rating of Jeevi. This rating has effected half of the theatre for that show. Chalthaa! I thought
Jeevi went to see Kushi-2 and since it is not Kushi he gave half rating of that. OK . Nop!
Coming to Chinna Boss! Barring a scene in the beginning with Kota and Ponnambulam Pawan has shown the same stamina in the comic and heroic role through out! If the story is thin, how Pawan is responsible? He is not a writer nor the producer! Wherever he was he gave great satisfaction with lot of ease in his action. I thoroughly enjoyed his acting prowess. How risky it is to choose a thin storied movies to show one’s mettle!? Pawan passed this challenge. Chalthaa!!!!
Now some more questions!
1.How to compare this movie with Kushi? What extra he did it in Kushi and that is not here in GS?? There was a positive talk for Kushi and the movie went ahead and ahead since nobody could stop it’s positive talk. But strangely for GS the talk spread like wild fire and many carried away by that. When the reality comes to light everybody is reconsidering the movie.
2.In fights or comedy scenes Pawan did the same way he acquitted in his previous Kushi, Badri and Thammudu. He didn’t lose any magic touch on his acting areas. Only thing that made a difference is high expectations and low satisfactions. Chalthaa!
3.Replacement of Prakash Raj with Ashish Vidyarthi. This guy is marvelous. He really competed with Pawan in his comic role and funny dances. This is not at all a bad decision and even a refreshing change from routine Prakash Raj.
4.Meera Jasmin. She is like a ‘Boddu malli’ spreading her chubby chewy appearance and smiley looks. Her dialogue delivery was not at all a
distraction in the course of establishing later scenes of the movie. Her role is limited so her dialogues.
5.Wagon chase. OT came into mind. He struck it off saying that is a very ordinary one and laughed at the camera man who worked on that for 10 days. I challenge whether one can ride a vehicle with such a speed in between two giant Volvos. Those two big vehicles kept on colliding with the Pawan’s scorpion. Such collisions with speeding vehicles how they sandwich the middle vehicle-only God knows and next OT knows. I laugh on the ignorance and innocence of OnlyTruth! I met with a major accident when I clicked my camera for a second from my fast vehicle. OT need to contact the fight masters to know the truths!
6.Nowhere Pawan overacted. Songs picturization in foreign locales is subtle and cool. Moderate self-designed steps and acts. Good time pass. Really Chalthaa!
7.Fights. The forest fight is variety one with fragrance of comedy. The one in climax is natural. When somebody butchered with an ‘axe’ that is great and if Pawan does that with bamboo that is joke. That is double standard! Nahin Chalthaa indeed!
All pawan fans I really really enjoyed the movie. This is a movie deserves more praise by Jeevi. It seems he is confused and influenced by the bad
propaganda. I follow his ratings and that kept me in dilemma to drive to Artesia or not! But when I was driving back I felt I would have a missed a good movie had I been stuck home that day. So Jeevi's rating skills are at 'stake'. Chalthaa!
Finally for chinna boss fans!
Remember at the final scenes he beat up his own men for showing their back to the bad guys. May be it is time for the fans to fight out the bad
propaganda propagated by ‘bad fans’! Their ill motives are not Chalthaa!?
