I think I have previlege of appearing for both places.
1. Chennai since passport has hyderabad address and its only 3 months that I moved here
2. Mumbai as by the time I get the interview date, it will be 6 months so I can go to that place.

you live in India, you must appear for your NIV interview at the Visa Section that has jurisdiction over the Consular District where you have been resident for the last six months. If you have permanently moved location in the last 6 months, and are not on a temporary transfer, you should apply at the Visa Section covering your present residence.
Please note: Indian citizens resident in the U.S. can request an NIV interview at any of the four U.S. Visa Sections in India when they are applying for a new NIV.

music man, you must go to chennai as hyderabad is falling under chennai area jurisdiction. current residence is 3 months is too short to qualify for mumbai. atleast 1 or 2 years untene, Mumbai ki velocchu. u must go to chennai
