TD to play BC card to counter Telangana!
With the byelection to Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat becoming a certainty, the Telugu Desam has already started dreaming about a victory. The party fared pretty well in municipal as well as panchayat raj elections and is of the hope that the people have lost faith both in the Congress as well as TRS.
There is already a talk in the Telugu Desam as to who should it field for the byelections. There is a unanimous opinion that it should field a BC candidate, since both TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and minister M Satyanarayana Rao are from Velama community. The name of L Ramana, belonging to weavers' community, is doing rounds. Being a former MP, he has a lot of goodwill among the Padmashalis (weavers), who constitute a majority of vote bank in the constituency.
So, it remains to be seen whether it is the Telangana sentiment or the caste factor that will decide the fate of candidates in Karimnagar.
