Rama Naidu, Nagarjuna among tax evaders!
The reports that the Vigilance and Enforcement Department has unearthed an income tax evasion scandal involving several film producers and actors running into several crores is creating ripples in film circles here.
Prominent among the tax evaders are: Suresh productions promoter D Rama Naidu and Annapurna Studios promoters Venkat and Nagarjuna Akkineni. They have been making tax payments for the income from film production, but have been evading tax on distribution of films.
After the Vigilance department submitted its report, these film personalities are now running after the government to hush up the matter and get concessions in the tax, source say.
