“I have 100 per cent faith in my husband Nagarjuna and my best friend Tabu  . Nothing will shake this belief,” says Amala, former actor and wife of South top star Nagarjuna. Rumours about Nagarjuna and Tabu being involved have resurfaced. Years ago, the two were romantically linked. Now, with Tabu spending a lot of time at Nagarjuna’s home in Hyderabad, the buzz is that the romance has rekindled and wife Amala has accepted it! 
Ask Amala about this and she shoots back, “When there are serious issues like the blasts and the flood affecting Mumbai, are people actually wondering about what’s Amala’s best friend doing in her home? It’s really saddening. Nobody should bother what happens under my roof. I am happy.”
She further says, “And before you ask whether my husband and I have discussed this... No, never! My home is sacred, like a temple. I don’t allow anything unpleasant from the film industry to pour in, especially such filthy gossip. I don’t encourage such talks. I feel it will contaminate my house.” About Tabu, she says, “I’m sure even she must be hurt, but we never discuss it. Tabu is one of the persons, besides Danny Denzongpa, my rakhi brother, from Mumbai who I am in touch with. And, yes, she stays with us when she comes here,” says Amala, who, even today, looks the way as she did when she made her debut in Bollywood years ago. When Amala married Nag (as he’s fondly referred to), she willingly gave up her career and later got involved with animal welfare activities and the Blue Cross.
Doesn’t she miss the limelight? “I had worked continuously for seven years. When you retire at your peak, it is a good feeling and everybody remembers you. I’d rather keep it like that. Nag always says I am much busier now than when I was acting. My son is growing up, he is twelve. So, where is the time?” she says and adds, “But being the wife of a top star, I am always under the media glare. So where’s the question of missing it?”
