Naidu plans to clip Goud's wings!

Everybody agrees that if at all the Telugu Desam fared well in the recent Zilla Parishad and mandal parishad elections in Telangana, the credit should go to former Home Minister T Devender Goud. His padayatra from Adilabad to Ranga Reddy district brought him immense popularity and also rejuvenated the TD cadres. His image graph has definitely shot up steeply and the TD could bag both Adilabad and Ranga Reddy ZPs.

Naturally, this has caused a heartburn in TD chief and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who does not like somebody gaining popularity within the TD. As if adding fuel to fire, there are other TD leaders from Telangana, like Kadiam Srihari and Nagam Janardhan Reddy, who are envy of Devender Goud.

Result: Naidu did not bother to take Devender Goud into confidence, while deciding the candidates for Ranga Reddy ZP chairperson and vice-chairperson posts. He thought of changing the candidature of Sunitha Reddy (wife of Tandur MLA Mahender Reddy, a follower of Devender Goud), but decided against it at the last moment, as he had already announced her name before the election itself.

But in case of vice-chairperson post, Devender Goud promised the seat to CPI (M) candidate, but Naidu overruled his promise and gave it to Kasani Swetha, sister-in-law of former ZP chairman Kasani Gnaneshwar, who had in fact made arrangements to jump into the Congress. Naidu did not take Devender Goud's protests seriously and ignored him completely, causing a lot of anguish to the former Home Minister.
