In general IB, CIB and RAW are very good and they are second to none compare to other similar depts. in the US or any other developed nations. They can do lot better if they are allowed to work without political interferences. The biggest problem is that Indian politicians use these depts. for political purposes and they are equally corrupted now. Even CBCID is not bad, key is to leave them wihtout undue influences. Remember, NTR gave full freedom to police when it comes to old city and we never had problems during his tenure. Similarly Sivarasan (Rajiv's assassination plotter) was caught in B'lore after a nation wide hunt. These are few examples but unfortunately govts. are using these depts. for their own (parties) sake rather in the best interests of country. |
