Bala Krishna set the trend of faction films with Samarasimha Reddy. Several films followed. But Balakrishna wanted to do something different. Hence the germ of idea for Vijayendra Verma happened. Balakrishna plays an Army officer in the film. The film was shot in snow-clad mountains at Kulu-Manali. A fight and chase scene was shot there. Sources say the high altitude rendered several members of the crew sick. Even lighting was extremely difficult. Balakrishna fractured his right foot while shooting at Jodhpur for the film. Sangeetha, Laya and Ankitha play the female leads in the film. This film was supposed to complete before Lakshmi Narasimha, a reamake of tamil film Sawmy, But Balakrishna thought it prudent to let his audiences see him as a police officer first and then as an Army man. He therefore persuaded producer Konda Krishnamraju to use the Vijayendra Verma dates for Lakshmi Narasimna. Three songs of the film were supposed to be shot abroad but considering the restraint order on the actor, this would not be possible. One chase scene in the movie will be shot on the runway at Begumpet airport and the climax will be filmed in Nandyal. The audio of the vijayendra Verma Shall be released in the first week of September. Producer Konda krishnamraju and debut director Swarna Subbarao say they are happy with the manner in which the film has been progressing. “We are sure the officers role played by Balakrishna shall be liked by his fans.”
