The sensational combination of Mahesh Babu and Gunashekar which gave films like Okkadu and Arjun before are teaming up again for Sainikudu. Another industry-heavyweight who will be behind the screen for this film is the eccentric Ashwini Dutt, who is known to churn out blockbusters. The superhit on-screen pair of Athadu – Mahesh and Trisha will be teaming up again for Sainikudu. The music of the film is being scored by Harris Jayraj, while Vijayan who composed the fights for Okkadu, will be overseeing the action part of the film.
Shooting from Jan 20, Harris scores 3 songs : The shooting of the movie will commence from the 20th of January. The scripting work of the film will be going in the meanwhile. Mahesh too, is busy with the shooting of his other film Pokiri, which will be directed by Puri Jagannath. Meanwhile, the music director Harris Jeyraj has already completed the recording for 3 songs from the film.
Thota Tharani erects Warangal set : A huge set recreating the backdrop of Warangal city has been erected at Kesarapalli, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Thota Tharani was the man, behind this mega set.
Super35 camera : The latest gizmo that most filmmakers want to lay their hands-on is the Super35 camera. NTR's Ashok was the first film to use this technology, followed by Sainikudu. The specialty of this camera is to present wide-screen shots in the film, without compressing the size of the image, unlike the normal anamorphic lenses which do so. The daily rent of the camera itself is much more expensive than the Arri 435 camera, which is the industry standard. The post-production for a film shot on Super35 camera differs from regular cams, and needs more work.
Dasari acquires Nizam rights : The single biggest territory in Andhra Pradesh is the Nizam area. The competition amongst distributors to grab the rights of this area is intense. Union Minister for Coal Industries, Dasari Narayana Rao who was inactive for some time is back in the news. He has been on an acquiring spree. His recent acquisitions include Jai Chiranjeeva, Super, Style and many more films. He is also producing his own film to be directed by Teja. He has acquired the Nizam distribution rights of this film by paying a huge sum. |
