Thk u all. I have one more problem. Winrunner is not recognizing the list object while playing back even though the object is in GUI map. I am using GUI map file per test mode. |

Automated Conversion Processes
1. Required files are identified
2. All fields are identified and mapped to the new system
3. There are procedures for Balancing, run-to-run totals & before and after file compares.
Data Conversion Testing
1. The controls over security, development, and running of data conversion programs are approved by management
2. A data conversion cross-reference map is developed and approved by management

Just run the scripts that were already written.
You are Suppose to do Regression Testing after getting any bug fixes/changes to make sure the change doesn't break any previous functionality.
Suppose if you don't have any scripts for the fixes/changes you have to create additional Scripts based on the changes |

well..this is simple Regression testing kind of stuff..
Before starting the process first go through from the application manually and try to complete all the 6 scenarios.(hope u have the data in excel files)..
The data u willbe getting thru excel files called Baseline data..(most of the times this data willbe given by manual testing team or Developers)
You need to change the data according to Naming conventions (if required)
ask them the first question
Do you have Test cases or Do i need to write/prepare test cases?
Is there any old Winrunner scripts or do i need to prepare the new scripts?
based on the information given by u, I am assuming willbe working on Data driven tests..
u can ask me at any time if u have any doubts..
be confident u will do it..

We have total 6 scenarios to be done.
1) Create a new customer
2) Activate the customer
3) Suspend the customer
4) Restore Suspend customer
5) Cancel customer
6) Resume Cancel customer
I was not told anything as of now, just asked to finish these scenarios in a week. I dont have the software installed on my machine,probably will be done by tomorrow. I was given coding standards and it said all the data required for testing will come in Excel files. For scenarios 3-6 need to check in the database (Oracle I guess) for the account status before proceeding further.
I did not go to client site yet, so i dont have much info. Pls tell me what are the questions I need to ask when i go to client site. I was told that client is doing automation efforts for conversion testing. |
