Speaking to mediapersons, TD MLAs N Janardhan Reddy and Kala Venkat Rao said that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao has been going to town indicating that Telangana would be a reality by the end of December while the Congress leaders say that they are for second a State Reorganisation Committee.
“Sonia Gandhi should clear the air over the stalemate. No one knows who is telling the truth. Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy says that the Congress was committed to the second SRC while his ally KCR insists that Telangana would be a reality in nine months. In fact KCR has been tom-toming the nine month deadline right from the day the Congress came to power and no one knows the correct deadline,” said NJR.
Quoting a Supreme Court decision of August 28, 1959 delivered by Chief Justice S R Das in the Babu Lal Parace and State of Bo-mbay case, NJR said, “No bill shall be introduced except on the recommendation of the President and the second condition requires that wherever the proposal contained in the bill affects the area, boundaries or name of any of the State, the bill has to be referred by the President to the State Legislature for expressing its view thereon.” The senior TD leader explained that the law clearly states that even bills pertaining to formation of new States need the approval of Legislature.
Shielded by talks, PWG grows in strength
Hyderabad, July 13: The State government has landed itself in a tight spot following reports that the People’s War Group Naxalites are regrouping their strength and weaponry during the period of ceasefire. According to official sources, the PWG is utilising the withdrawal of police forces from forests and villages to the hilt. The PWG dalams are now openly moving in the villages, conducting people’s courts to deliver instant justice, occupying lands belonging to big farmers, settling disputes and extorting mo-ney on a large scale.
“They are not leaving even a petty shop owner in the villages. From contractors to teachers, eve-rybody is now forced to contribute to the PWG party fund. There has been largescale recruitment of yo-uth from the interior villages and youth, who because of their poverty are succumbing to their pressure tactics,” a senior Telugu Desam leader from Warangal said.
In many villages in northern Tel-angana, Nallamala forest areas and agency areas of Visakhapatnam, the PWG has already started running a parallel administration. Even the government officials at the mandal level are forced to act on the representations of the PWG.
A couple of days ago, the Intelligence Bureau reportedly alerted the State government on the spurt in Naxal activities, which are now creating trouble in neighbouring States. Moreover, there are reports that all the major Naxalite groups have decided to shed their internal differences and merge into a full-fledged extremist organisation with a vast network all over the country.
Already, the PWG, the Praja Pra-tighatana and the Jana Sakthi gro-ups have begun issuing joint press statements. The Intelligence Bureau authorities cautioned the State government to be wary of the PWG tactics and not be lax. Sources said the “covert” killings of three Naxalites in Warangal district has come in handy for the PWG to step up pressure on the government to keep the police further away from the Naxalites.
Though it is yet to be ascertained whether or not the accused, Lax-man, was a plant of Naxalites, the People’s War Group quickly jumped the gun and blamed it on the police and dem-anded that the police should not be involved in the ceasefire supervisory committee. “By attributing every incident to the police, the People’s War Group wants to strategically gain the upper hand in talks and push the government to the corner,” sources said.
However, the State government has decided to tighten its stand, while continuing efforts to restore peace through negotiations. It has clearly told the People’s War Group emissaries that the Naxals should not move in the villages with arms and conduct people’s courts.
“We will put forth our own conditions during the negotiations. After all, we have to function in the democratic framework,” Home Minister K Jana Reddy said, adding that such issues would be settled during the negotiations.
Nine killed in road mishaps
Hyderabad, July 14: Nine persons were killed in separate road mishaps in the city and on its outskirts since Tuesday night.
Two women dead in jeep-bus smash
Two persons died and 11 sustained injuries when two vehicles collided on Wednesday near Turkapally. Police said that 10 persons belonging to a family were on their way to Chilkur temple near Chevella from Karimnagar in a jeep, when it collided with a bus belonging to Bharat Biotech at about 10 am. Two women — P Laxmi, 70, of Koheda village and S Bondavva, 62, of Kallepalli in Karimnagar— died. The injured were admitted to the Gandhi Hospital.

Two persons, including a six-year-old-girl, were killed when an autorickshaw in which they were travelling collided with a van at Moinabad on Tuesday. Five others were injured. The deceased were identified as V Bhaskar, 22, a resident of Veerananapet, and B Divya.
Student dies after being hit by lorry
Palvai Phani Kiran Reddy, 22, an engineering student, was knocked down by a lorry at Rajiv Gandhi Nagar near LB Nagar at 8.45 pm on Tuesday. He died instantly.
Youth jumps from bus, dies
Jitendar, 23, died after he jumped out of a moving RTC bus on Tuesday evening at Medchal. “Jitendar dozed off in the bus and woke up only after it passed his factory,” a police officer said. “He hurriedly jumped out of the bus and sustained injuries.”

Hyderabad, July 14: A 30-year-old man committed suicide on Wednesday by consuming poison when the Medhcal MRO went to his house to probe allegations that he was maintaining bonded labour.
The deceased, V Yadaiah, of Ravolkole, was a mason in a stone crushing unit. Police said his sister-in-law Venkatamma took a loan of Rs 10,000 from him. The official representative of Roman emperor is Pilate (Sarath Babu) receives the complaint against Jesus to this extent. The charge against Jesus is that he is violating the Roman law and therefore he should be crucified. Pilate's wife (Rajitha) tells her husband that Jesus is the son of God. However, Pilate orders the crucification of Jesus on Friday (called Good Friday). Jesus is resurrected from the grace on Sunday (Easter).
Performance
Krishna acted to the full of his capabilities to enliven the character of Jesus Christ. However, it is a little bit odd to watch 60-year-old Krishna in the role of Christ, who was crucified at the age of 33. Krishna 's dialogue delivery is superb. In long shots, he is simply the best.
The villainous roles of Anas and Kaipas are well played by Ranganath and Kota Srinivasa Rao.
Jayaprakash Reddy in the role of Satan looks hilarious, loosing the seriousness.
Suman in his role as John, the Baptist, is excellent.
The apostles are played by Hari Prasad (as Peter), Ramana (as Jacob), Narayana Rao (as Andrew). Vinodh appears in the role of Judas Iscariot, who belies his lord.
Ravali acted the role of a prostitute who is cleansed of her sins when she cleans the feet of Jesus. She could evoke emotional response from the audience.
The climax shot of crucification is moving. Krishna is well guided by the film “The Passion of the Christ”.
Music by Vandemataram is average. Songs are Ok. Cinematography by Meka Ramakrishna is good.
Technical Details
Direction by P Chandrasekhar Reddy is good. He did a good job taking the story much closer to the biblical reality.
The songs are good and make the audience feel them.
There are several oddities with regard to the locations and costumes. The crown of thorns on Krishna looks very odd, as if made of fiber. Unlike the Hollywood makes of the Biblical stories, you have the clothes on Christ and other characters very neat and even well ironed here.
FC Verdict
It is a good movie to watch. It has the capacity to entertain the Christian audience well.
