Vanguard regrets to announce that Gautam Saroop, 30, a developer in Corporate Technology Services in Malvern, died on Saturday, July 23. He had been with Vanguard for six years. Mr. Saroop began his career here as part of the Start IT program.
Rob Lake, manager in eCFS told us that Mr. Saroop "always did the right thing for his clients, was a terrific team player, went above and beyond to get results, and was always looking to improve himself."
Mr. Saroop received his bachelor's degree in engineering, with honors, from the University of Roorkee in India. He received a master's degree in materials engineering from Drexel University, and, since coming to Vanguard, completed his second master's degree in software engineering, also from Drexel.
Services will be private. Condolences can be sent to Mr. Saroop's brother at this address:

1. Don't drive while feeling sleepy.
2. Don't drink and drive.
3. Don't change lines without shoulder check
4. Don't talk on cell phone especially while changing lines
5. Don't argue or drive in a bad mood and give instructions to the offshore developement team
6. Don't go beyond speed limt (+5 and 10 is ok)
7. Don't run the traffic lights

Gautam Saroop (B.E. Metallurgy 1997)
Following a very tragic accident on May 23rd, 2005, Gautam Saroop (B.E. Metallurgy, 1997) passed away after succumbing to injuries. The accident happened on I-195 in New Jersey and his wife was also involved in it. She is still in a critical condition at the Helene Flud Medical Center in Trenton, NJ and the prognosis is as yet
unknown.
A funeral is being arranged on Tuesday, 26th of July in Trenton, NJ. If you would like to know more details, please contact Sanjay Vijayaraghavan at (352) 359-1036.
Gautam's friends and batchmates remember him fondly as an execellent individual and a brilliant student. May his soul rest in peace.
