Correct ye mama SuryaChandra 50 days aadaledu, kaakapothe alaa ani wash out avvaledu, had a run of 6 or 7 weeks anukunta. Balayya di katthula Kondayya anukuntaa aa time lo release ayyindi and that was a big flop alaane Chiru di koodaa yedo release ayinatlundi aa time lo adi koodaa flop anukuntaa, veetitho polisthe SuryaChandra decent gaane nadichindi. However, Vijaysanthi's prathighatan won that race and that movie was a big hit when compared to all these movies. |

Kaani in general aa tharuavatha venkatesh tappithe Chiru,NBK, Nag veella cinemaalu akkada peddagaa release ayyevi kaavu release ayina konni cinemaalu sariggaa aadaledu, ippudu Jr.NTR vi ekkuva gaa akkada release avuthunnaayi, kaani JR.NTR ki koodaa aa theater kalisi raavatledu. As I said, sentiment and also this theater is completely into Guntur own town, might be the other reasons.

Ippati varaku meeting lo vundi ippude DB ki vacchaanu.
Gowri Sankar is one of the best theaters in Guntur. It's owned by Gummadi Veerayya, fan of NTR and used to be active member in City TDP, he was the one who brought Lal John Basha(former M.P) to politics and recommended him for the M.P. seat. Capacity wise, GowriSankar is on par/less than other big ones like Manga, Pallavi etc at that time, looks and features wise, this used to be the best theater along with Manga. However, Gowri Sankar is in Guntur One town and is surrounded by all Auto shops. Most of the main theatres in Guntur are located in/around Naz theater complex and GowriSankar is the only main theater which is kind of little bit far and is completely into Guntur one town(which is predominantly populated by Muslims, Krishna has big fan following in that area)
Somehow, sentiment wise that theater was not that great for big heroes. In it's initial days, NTR's Bobbilipuli released in that theater and ran for 100 days, Krishna's movies like Ramarajyam lo Bheemaraju and SuryaChandra had good run in that theater, however I don't know if they ran for 100 days. Later some other movies of other big heroes released and didn't have that good run. Because of sentiment and because it's bit far, many big heroes movies were not released here at one point of time when compared to other theatres.
Venkatesh have a good track record there. His movies like Chanti, SundaraKanda, Intlo Illaalu Vantintlo priyuraalu etc ran for 100 days. It's definitely not that bad where by ladies can't come to that theater, if so, the above Venkatesh's movies would not have run for 100 days, as you know, most of venkatesh's audience are ladies. Theater is excellent, but the surroundings are not that great.
Coming to Kirayi Kotagadu, I'm sorry. I can't recall, it's definitely one of those theatres (Krishna Mahal and K.P.P), I can get that information and will let you know. |

1979 to 1982, my priorities kept varying between NTR and SS. Infact, when Vayyari Bhaamalu released, I could not figure out whose fan I was. But from Pagabattina Simham, I have remained a fan of SS.
