No many cases.ok I will give one example.U heard about dasi directos B.Narsinga rao.he made another movie in thousands (not even lakhs).so far nobody come forward to release that movie,I think that movie got an ward also.Mnay award movies are like that.so many talented people are there in India and but few papers will inform to us.

I dont subsccribe to that idea mama and I dont think TIME guys put it in there because of some tamilian conspiracy stuff ... again, a LOT depends on how much publicity and marketing a movie gets. and nayakan got a LOT of it over the years, mainly when the world opened to Mani Ratnam through his Roja, a lot of western critics went back in time and saw his other movies and were bowled over by Nayakan. everyone knows its inspired from godfather but still, the distinct indian touch the director gave the film coupled with Kamal's performance prolly won the movie the honor.
whatever other 'great' movies u talk of , should first get out their doors and be seen by people. If a maker cannot flaunt his product around, that's his mistake. |

No.earlier people were not realised about media manipulation.Now so many channels and internet slowly people realised about media manipulation.Even our telugu newspaper in 80s and 90s manipulated and indierctly brainwashed people.

OTOH, most of you are trying to make me believe that he overacts. all that I tried to do was prove that many of the misconceptions about Kamal were infact misplaced. Just because some people think he overacts does not stop him from being one of India's finest actors ever.

that happens because of a weak director. when an actor thinks that he HAS to dominate the screen because others around him are not upto mark in order to make the scene work, the director has to give him enough confidence that's not the case.
Irrespetive of direction.. the actor shld do justice to his character what he supposed to be.. not to show off his acting capabilities.

I don't believe in reviews of tamil movies on web. No idea why media tends to hype each and every tamil movie.
Shankar's movie should be watchable atleast once. I guess I should watch the movie with mindset of rating 3.25, so that I would enjoy the movie. |
