The titles run with an English song by Andrea recalling us of James Bond movies. But later the film couldn’t keep the audience in grip either with theme or with narration. Only Chiranjeevi’s performance as Govindarajulu dominates the show. Proper work should have done during the script work. Lack of suspense and novelty made the film frail.

Story:

This is the story of a father and a son. Generally, the concept of father controlling son is widely seen. But in this film son tries to make his father move according to his wish. The screen name of father role is Govindrajulu, who is a mestri and young at heart but old in age. And the son is Siddarth, who leads a disciplined life as a TV reporter. Rimmi Sen played beside son and Tabu beside father.

Govindarajulu is known for his mass appeal among his friends and dependant coolies. A notorious contractor (Pradeep Rawat) in the city tries to grab the contracts using his muscle power. In his attempt he warns a government official for making his tender go to dogs. Siddarth shoots the same incident in his camera that happens in the officer’s house. Later Siddarth calls the contractor for a live interview in his channel. He unveils the real picture of the contractor to people. Exasperated brother of contractor kills the officer and Govindarajulu stands as a witness for this murder. The brother of the contractor gets a sentence of lifetime imprisonment. However, the contractor contrives to kill entire family of Govindarajulu.

On the other side, Govindarajulu leads an easy life along with his coolies while his son Siddarth makes his own fans as a Teleivision celebrity. Rimmie Sen, a NIFT student falls in love with Siddarth. Govindarajulu loses his wife with the birth of Siddarth. So, out of routine, Siddarth makes his father get married to Tabu. Rakshitha is a neighbor to Govindarajulu, who has had no prominent role to play in the film.

Prakash Raj, another contractor who lifts the contract that was left by Pradeep Rawat, happens to be the father of Rimmie Sen. Govindarajulu and Prakash Raj also happen to be childhood friends. The differences between Prakash Raj and older Chiranjeevi (Govindarajulu) with rich and poor sentiment take another phase in the story. In a routine family drama, Rimmi Sen conspires to separate both Govindarajulu and Siddarth and marries latter. Sunil, the brother of Rimmie Sen assists her in her efforts to accomplish the mission. With quite routine scenes, all the family members realize the truth. Meanwhile the villain in the theme, Pradeep Rawath, attempts to harm Govindarajulu, Siddarth, Prakash Raj and their family members. The climax of the story obviously kills Pradeep Rawath. The screen reads ‘The End’ eventually.

Performance:

Chiranjeevi’s performance as Govindarajulu is active and impressive but Siddarth’s role has got no punch in the film. Rakshitha’s character is purposeless but only added as a cashew nut in rice dish. She performed sensuously in two songs ‘Kodi koora chillu gaarey’ and ‘Okati Rendu moodu’ and boosted the audience mood. Rimmie Sen is okay and she gave a hot treat to the eyes of viewers with her tight fits attires. Tabu performed a homely role, which carried less vitality. Sunil could bring some laughs in the theatre. Krishna Bhagawan, Venu Madhav and MS Narayana perform well to the extent they have given the scope.

Other Departments:

Choreography, the most vital department in Chiranjeevi’s films has worked well for this film. Artwork of Ashok and Kanal Kannan’s fights is in tune with contemporary mass appeal.

Analysis:

The subject chosen for the film might have appeared novel before making the film, but it turned a spice less dish at the end. The narration part was aptly formulated to run with humor, but that couldn’t get in tune with the expectations of people on Chiranjeevi’s film. Weak story line marred the durability of the film. Obviously, the film should run only with the star image of Chiranjeevi. The film receives same level of audience reception in A, B and C centers
