Sameera Reddy has good figure and right oomph to please the audiences. She has done good job in her role as Phalgat Milk Papa (The name itself is massy and double entendre)

NTR has done enough and more action films. Actually he has trapped in that image and has been trying to come out of it. But unfortunately, in Narasinhudu too he goes for the same kind of masala film. The film is nothing but an attempt to put old wine in new bottle. With inane story, dragging narration, illogical scenes, it even fails to impress his hardcore fans. The basic fault lies in the selection of story and weak screenplay.

The film is written by Ravishanker who directed Durgi, a Kannada film starring Malasri in title role. He has just changed that original to suit NTR’s image but alas what he dished out looks like Srihari starrer Ganapathi, a futile revenge drama.

Srihari’s Ganapathi has same kind of theme but relationships to the protagonists have been changed in this film. In the first half hero NTR pretends as a dumb guy and goes on rampage and the second half reveals his identity.

Story

The film starts off with hero coming to city on a mission. He starts killing Phani (GV), Mani (Rahul Dev) – sons of Amberpet Poturaju (Kalabhavan Mani) and JD (Puneet Issar) respectively. When the police commissioner (Ashish Vidhyarthi) finds out that it is the hero, who is behind the killings, hero reveals his flash back. Hero who till then pretends dumb guy tells that he is Kondaveeti Narasinhudu, whose sister like girl (a 11 year old girl) was brutally raped and killed by Phani and Mani. JD and Poturaju and others attempt to murder Narasinhudu to hush off the killings. The rest of the film is about hero taking revenge on villains who kill the girl and her father.

Analysis

Narasinhudu has nothing special as such in terms of story but one expected interesting narration. The film though is remake of Kannada film, Durgi, such kind of films have come umpteen in the past. It is an outdated story. In the very recent past, Srihari had done similar film, Ganapathi, four years back. In Ganapathi, Srihari’s pregnant wife and father are being killed and hero sets off for taking revenge.

Hero NTR not uttering a single word in the entire first half and telling his name at the interval bang is not that good. Because any lay audience can guess that hero has a flashback from the first scene itself. The first half is okay, it has some entertaining moments with sexy Sameera Reddy, though they are vulgar in nature. Then goes haywire leaving many situations to your imagination.

The film’s bad narration, lengthy drama (it is almost 3 hours film) and bad editing work (by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao) have killed the film.

The entertaining scenes in the film are love track between NTR, Amisha and NTR and Sameera Reddy. Brahamanadam’s entire comedy track is cheap and vulgar, though it evokes laughter for mass audiences.

As hero there is no second word about NTR’s performance – he is at his best with tough looks, mass dialogues, and good dances. He excels in the role but his role lacks the logic and impact. It sad to see NTR, who has such a huge following, failing to select good stories. He needs to immediately change his ‘story department’

Sameera Reddy has good figure and right oomph to please the audiences. She has done good job in her role as Phalgat Milk Papa (The name itself is massy and double entendre). Amisha Patel has not much to do in the film. As the villain, Kalabhavan Mani steals the show. The rest of the cast has done okay job.

Dialogues by Parachoori Brothers are out of sync with the character. The much hyped 2 minute breathless dialogue by NTR is astounding for hears but lacks punch because the scene has no such requirement.

B Gopal has shown his touch in track between hero and heroes. Storywriter Ravishanker is the villain of the film. Camera work is standard.

JP’s Verdict:

NTR disappoints his fans too. I strongly advise week hearted and sensitive people not to waste their money on this film. For action lovers and masala watcher may like it.
