Short wavelength Higher Frequency
Large wavelenghth Smaller Frequency.
If I remember my physics lesson, Imagine your standing on the beach, when a wave hits you it carries some energy. When a series of wavelengths, with higher frequency, the energy you feel will be higher.
So, The amount of energy carried can cause different reactions to your eye (retina).
Actually, Black is the lack of any light.
White light is all the colors mixed together.
Prisms:
Triangular slab of glass.
Light gets bent as it goes
from air to glass to air.
Different colors (energies)
get bent by different amounts.

actually...the light consists of different wavelengths(or frequencies).....
and these are seperated when they encounter different refractive index materials (in this case, air and the prism)... |
