i dont say selecting a sucess going director is a wrong thing to do
but giving offers to dirctors when ever they are in good track and recalling the offer when they immediately give failures is bad
ex-purijagan,ksravikumar,vnaditya
why should they be dropped when once offered the project , even before not analysing how the director will work on the given project
just by pointing him for one faliure after some
continues hits |

heros like nbk or chiru
if they get some flops while encouraging newdirecotrs or directors who are currently in down track

but on other side chiranjeevi recent times is selecting directors only when they get hits
b.gopal selected for indra after nn superhit
vvvinayak selected for tagore after aadi,dil superhit
before andhrawala relase purijagan was selected for one film later he was dropped keeping in view failure of andhrawala
sureshkrishna,ksravikumar,vnaditya also taken in to consideration for chiru films but when they got flops they were dropped
jayanth was selected for mbbs immediately after ln superhit
ila chustu pote chiru is only behind sucess directors,he never help any director to come up
when ever they fall down due to some flops
OR ENCOURAGE NEW DIRECTORS
but nbk on other side although dont have good track record with new directors still he give offers to new director,swarna subbarao for aditya productions

Quick_reminder,
agreed nbk did bhalevadivi basu with arun prasad. but after badri, puri directed 4 more movies. one flop, one hit, one super hit and one above average. so saying jr. ntr did andhrawala with puri because of badri's success is utter ridiculous. as far as chiranjeevi is considered b.gopal directed indra which came after narasimha naidu. the current movie Sankardada is directed by jayant who recently delivered a hit with nbk in the form of lakshmi narasimha. chiranjeevi mostly picked up his directors based on their recent success (may not be with nandamuri heroes) except may be on a couple of occassions. hitler was directed by mutyala subbayya after he delivered a hit with venkatesh in the form of pavitrabandham. suresh krishna was picked for master after he delivered a hit with rajanikant in the form of basha (the dubbed version also ran well in telugu). bAvagAru bAgunnAra was directed by jayant after he delivered a hit with venkatesh (premincukundam raa). sneham kosam was directed by k.s ravikumar who directed the original hit natpukkaga. chudalani undi was directed by gunasekhar after he got critical acclaim for his direction for the movies sogasu chudatarama and bala ramayanam. daddy and iddaru mitrulu are exceptions here though. mutyala was picked up for annayya after the flop krishna bAbu which is also an exception. even for anji which was started right after the success of ammOru, initially sabhApati was selected (who delivered a hit in tamil with v.i.p). after the failure of his next movie and due to some other reasons, sabhapati was replaced by kODi.

if you look at other heroes, nbk picked arun prasad, g. ramprasad and v.v. vinayak to direct their 2rd ventures, but they didn't provide the anticipated success to nbk. e.v.v. satyanarayana who was past his prime was picked for goppinTi alluDu. mutyala subbayya was picked for pavitra prema after he delivered hits with venkatesh and chiranjeevi (in addition to a couple of low budget hits) in the form of hitler and pavitraprema. jayant who delivered consistent flops was picked for lakshmi narasimha. akr was pikced to direct rana and muddula mogudu despite delivering flops. same is the case with Sarath and Raviraja (for devuDu). with the way of picking the directors, he tasted more failures than successes excpet in the case of b.gopal (after a string of flops and averages, he was pciked to direct ssr), Sarath and jayant.
