in continuation to my earlier posts on the telugu heroes who influenced the tollywood, this time i am continuing with rajendra prasad, the comedy king.
initially, like many telugu heroes, he was also started his career with small roles in many movies. later he acted as a hero in combination with chandramohan in many movies like vivaha bhojanambhu, rendu rellu aaru, etc. later on he acted as a solo hero in many hit movies like april 1 vidudala, preminchu pelladu, ladies tailor, aha naa pellanta, iddaru pellala muddula police, edurinti mogudu pakkinti pellam, etc. he was the favourite hero for many directors like vamsy, relangi narasimha rao, and to some extent jandhyala in those days. at one time all the family audience love to watch mostly rp's movies. with the success of his movies, he got lot of following in the youth in late eightees to mid ninetees. his movie erra mandaram got him the state nandi award, in which he acted in a deglamourised role. his action in the movie pavitra was loved by all at that time. the movies mutyamanta muddu, aa vakkati adakku, mayalodu, kobbari bondam, etc got good respose from the youth and even family people. he was the only hero in the telugu industry, who has minimum guarantee for the entertainment to the audience and for the profit of the producer during that time. his main assets are his perfect timing in dialogue delivery, and suitable expression, even many top heroes of present generation lacks that quality. if there is any choice between rp's movie and other hero's movie, general people (not a fan of any particular hero) used to give preference to rp's movie, that was the craze he got that time. still irrespective of being the fan of any hero, everybody likes to watch the movies of rp, which clearly shows that he is the emperor of entertainment |
