I heard about this but did not try the hack as I was not interested in downloading the songs any more !
It is a battle between apple's Itunes and Napster. Each one is trying to topple the opponent ! |

Remember this is illegal
Directions
1. Download and install winamp latest version
2. Download and install Output Stacker for winamp

3. Download and install Napster
4. You will need to upgrade from napster light and register for the free trial which includes inputting your credit card information.
5. Use napster to download and download
6. Configure winamp and output stacker with the following:
- in winamp click options menu
- click preferences
- click plug-ins
- click output
- click Dietmar's Output Stacker
- click the configure button
- add out_ds.dll from winamp's plug-ins folder
- add out_disk.dll from winamp's plug-ins folder
- select out_disk.dll in the output stacker plug-in and select Configure
- set the output directory
- set the output file mode to Force WAV file
7. Play the protected WMA files in winamp
8. As each file is played, an unprotected wave file will be created in the output directory
9. These *.wav files can be burned straight to a music CD or ripped to MP3s.
10. Remember to turn off this plug in after you are done as EVERYTHING played through winamp will generate a raw *.wav file.
11. Before 2 weeks are over, cancel napster (if you wish)
- In Napster click the My Account menu
- Click Account Status
- Click Cancel Free Trial
- Confirm
Please note: Legally, you are only allowed to use this music for as long as you have an account with napster. This mechanism allows you to convert your purchased music to whatever format you wish. |

Here is how it works...
You download all the songs you want during the 14 day trial. You can listen to them anytime. If you want to continue listening to the songs beyond the 14 day period(you pay 10$ a month)...otherwise the license expires and you cant listen to the songs that you downloaded...
SO what this crack does is, through winamp it converts mp3 DRM to wav file on to disk and then you have to reconvert it to MP3 using Lame encoder. Thats what Ive being doing..
Once the sogns are re-encoded you will have little quality loss...ie. 256K to 128Kb/s but still good quality. However these songs will be like any other "ILLEGAL" Songs...
So what this trick does is lets you access 1 million songs from Napsters database and "unpassword protect" it
