If I am correct, so far two problems:
(1) entering names in the name field instead of selecting names.
(probably i will disable users to enter names..).
(2) component 'MSADODC.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered:
(i need to supply the database driver with the software)
did i miss anything..??
typos: (1) Moive
suggestions:
(1) load/update the filmography from text file/internet(internet might be a hard task).
(2) supply the software with complete techinicians data.
(3) see complete details like directors, producers for an actor (at present only list of movie names are given for an actor).

at present this works only if the name is selected from the list.
if you leave the name empty (the names will be deleted from the cast).
if you want to add a new name...then first you have to add the actor name (by first adding actors).

it might be a good idea to start over fresh. this wont take much time (migth be a week or so).
but using Access as the database for online storage is a not a good idea. once the users know the location of this file...everything is exposed. in case if we hide this file from online... there might be some access problems (not sure).
instead, TEXT-DB & Perl-CGI or MySQL & Perl-CGI/PHP/ASP might be good for security concerns.

If the shortcut is not working properly... right click on shortcut and then properties... and the set the correct path for the "start in". (it should point to your installation path like "C:\Program Files\MovieDatabase") |

This is usefull tool but not required. So we may not have many users hence hosting may not be very expensive. I can help with that, if you want. Also brad said, he also is interested.
How tought is it to convert into just asp with acess back end. That will be easy for hosting online.
Then we can add few more things like exchanging pilms between users with some security we can let them share private message. |

there will be four files installed on your computer (other than shortcuts, program group files). those four are:
MovieDatabase.exe
mdlac.dll
unins000.dat
unins000.exe
you need first two files for the program to work properly.
last two files needed to uninstall the program.
so..let me know if you miss any of these.

BRAD: soon I will add the techinicians/actors details to the database. so that the users dont have to spend time entering data. Once it is done, it will be only selecting.
(since it is just a testing... i did not took pain in adding complete techinicians details.)

user guide:
first add actors, direcotrs, lyricists, composers (music directors)..etc.
then add movies. while adding movies type the number of actors, direcotrs..etc to add and select the names from the list. and enter the movie details and then select add movies. Note: No need to add the actors, directors, etc details. you can add these names later on.
also if you want to add two movies with the same names...make sure that the release year is different.
you can see actors profile, which movies he/she done. you can add/remove movies from the profiles.

andukey oka chinna software develop chesaa, MovieDatabase 1.0.
with this software, you can add movies, actors, directors...etc. You can check for exisiting movies in the database. You can delete movies, etc.
please download this software and test it. if there are any errors do let me know.
(at present there is no help file and also the look is not that great. soon i will update the look).
