1. What is your feeling when you have known that you made a hatrick?

A. Than feeling great or proud that I have made something great, I’m happy as my venture hasn’t gone wrong. The success with the help of my team is conveying that we are on the right track. (adding grin to his face) Nice to hear when you say ‘hatrick’!

2. When it is becoming difficult to give a mere hit even with the big stars, how could you venture to make the film with Siddarth in lead role?

A. I never differentiate films on the basis of star value. A good film always wins the hearts of people. I believe in making the films from audience point of view. Once upon a time ‘Lavakusha’ ruled the theatres for hundreds of days. I’m not flamboyantly comparing my film with that legend, but I’m quoting it since someone talked to me on phone comparing the success rate of ‘Nuvvostaanante..’ with that yesteryear’s magnum opus. Now I’m really overwhelmed to know that ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantaana’ is making the theatres full. There were theatres with fewer openings for the morning shows on the day of release. But now there is still demand for tickets, despite running the film even in adjacent theatres in many places of the state. I’m not boasting but only informing that right from Amalapuram to Hyderabad, theatre owners and people are telling that it is a 175-day movie. This happens very rare in the history of Telugu cinema. Another aspect is I never heard of people watching same movie for two consecutive shows. It is happening for ‘Nuvvostaanante Nenoddantaana’. Surprisingly, I’m not receiving negative feedback from any section of the audience. It is pleasing families, mass, youth and everyone. On 28th of this month we are releasing this film in a gala way in the United States. From then I would be awaiting the feedback from our overseas audience.

3. Starting the walk with a slow pace, now you are making it a marathon by releasing the film with five prints in the United States. Do you think that you win the race?

A. (With a humble smile) To be frank, I’m astonished to see the response for this film. It is like a wild gale. I’m sure that whatever the number of prints we are coming with, will not suffice the requirement. Definitely, there will be more demand of prints. I’m happy for releasing this film for our overseas audience with Shri Sravanthi Ravi Kishore as my co-producer.

4. There is a talk that ‘Varsham’ and ‘Nuvvostaanante…’ are the remakes of yesteryears’ Hindi movies. Is this coincidental or intentional?

A. ( Again with a pleasant smile on face) Well, yesterday we have given Tamil rights of ‘Nuvvostaanante..’ for a good price. Besides Hindi rights are given for biggest rate ever known. I hope that I have answered your question. It is implied that such a price wouldn’t be quoted or accepted if the film is a remake.

5. You have made Guna Sekhar, the director for ‘Okkadu’ when he was failed with ‘Mrugaraju’. Similarly, you picked up Sobhan and made him the director of ‘Varsham’ when he was failed with ‘Bobby’. There is a belief among the filmi and non filmi people that opportunities follow only the success in film industry. But you are giving opportunities only to those who have failed. Why is it so?

A. I consider the talent of the people but not the success rate.

6. There is a talk that your presence and involvement is felt more in the sets and you rarely give creative freedom to the director. What is your comment on this?

A. It is really untrue. I cannot make successful films by arresting the creative freedom of the director. You can put this question to the directors of my films and you find right answer.

7. You never step back to invest huge amounts on sets. How could you venture to lay the Charminar set at the rate of Rs.2 Crore for ‘Okkadu’? What is your confidence or belief in this aspect?

A. Well, with confidence we sleep at nights? It is with the only belief that we get up in the morning. Even this is similar. We go for such sets with the demand of the story but not for fancy.

8. You have announced ‘Sainyam’ after the success of Okkadu. Now you have announced three movies, Vijayadasami, Pournami and Aata. Which one you are making first?

A. Sainyam is a theme that certainly demands much more time to streamline. I’m focusing on ‘Pournami’ first
