today i am writing on the star who captured the hearts of not only the audience but also many heroines (whether worked with him or not), my next best favourite hero after SSK, he is none other than stylish nagarjuna.
he is really one of the stylish hero of tollywood. though his action in the early movies of his career was not good, he improved it from movie by movie, and captured the hearts of tollywood. his first film vikram was a huge hit, his later few movies failed miserably. though some of his movies like collector gari abbayi, majnu, etc were hits, he got his stardom with the two movies geetanjali and shiva which were released with a gap of few days, and both became block busters. i still remember that time in vizag when those two movies were released shiva (jagadamba), and geetanjali (chitralaya). both the theaters were packed with huge crowds for many days. with those two movies he became the favourite hero for many college students especially ladies. those two movies ran for more than 125 days in the respective theaters, and with the effect of those two movies though some of his later movies failed at the box office his craze did not fade out. that was the effect of those two movies. he is the hero who was appreciated in the commercial films also unlike his father. his movies like aakhari poratam, allari alludu, hello brother, president gari pellam, etc made him as a competetor to the commercial heroes of that time. everybody laughed initially when nag was selected for annamayya, and the success of that movie along with ninne pealladutha made him a family hero also. the success of his later movies like nuvvu vastavani, santosham, manmadhudu, nenunnanu (personally I did not like this movie) made him a wholesome family entertainer. he is only hero who got appreciation in bollywood also in his generation, and for his credit he is the only hero acted with many bollywood heroines as well as Miss Universe (susmita sen) and Miss World (Ishwarya, a song in ravoyi chanda mama). many heroines told in their interviews that Nag is their favourite hero. he is one of the few heroes who can satisfy both class and commercial movie lovers, and that is why his recent movies (though were not good enough to be hits) became good hits, and that is the craze he got from the people of andra pradesh. he does not care about the length of his character in the movies and hence acted in movies like adhipathi, ninne premista, and his passion to act in hindi films made him to act in khuda-gava, shiva, etc. as many heroes in tollywood also say he is really a "Stlyish Hero" |
