Avunu Venu mama I also read India rejected the foreign help...
Itlanti disasters lo people require help in 3 ways...
1) Money - India is having enough and NRI's also roped in money immediately...
2) Man Power - India had this plenty too where are the others dont..
3) Transportation: Reaching victims is the key. But sunamis affected only coastal regions and mostly near the sea so this was not prooblem ...
Where as other countries lacked atleast one of the above so needed help... |

TSUNAMI!!!!
Worst human loss ever in this disaster on December 26th!!
Till date Indonesia lost 90,000 people, SriLanka 45,000 people, India 10,000 people!!
India which faced such the wrath of TSUNAMI, immediately reacted by sending relief to neighbouring Sri Lanka along with it's own TN/ANDAMAN!! India is the 1st country to send relief to Sri Lanka!! Also, India rejected offers of support from Western nations saying we can tackle the disaster and initiated the relief process by sending 23 million worth of relief on day one of the disaster to the Island nation!!
This way, we proved to the world that India is a strong nation in South east Asia and one of the strong nations in the world!!
Some how, from the beginning, with the change in government, our Domestic policies are changing but not the Foriegn policies!!
